Andrew,
what version of Locus Pro and Android are you using?
I wonder that your icons of Pro differs so much from mine.
I use still Android 4.3 and Pro 3.13.1 on Note 2 with 240dpi
@jusc - Pro 3.13.1 (latest version), Android 5.1.1, Xperia Z1 ~400dpi, standard icons (as far as I'm aware), I'll say again the compass icon in Pro was "good" size and only changed size when I upgraded Locus beta 3.13.1.5 (28th Nov) which in the release notes says "work in progress - icons..."

Compass arrow, this is different story - difference in old and new version is not so big I think, so leave it for now please.

The difference between old and new version is not so big? My pro compass icon was fine until the recent beta with new icons. I already mentioned this at the time. beta compass (right) is fine, pro compass (left) is unusable. Solution?

Yes, the backup folder in Locus free was invalid (after restore from Locus Pro ZIP). However two points:

  • the problem was obvious once I checked Settings > Misc > Default Folders > Backup, the message text could be much more user friendly
  • why does the message occur at all when I haven't run Locus yet?

I've noticed recently this message box pops up just briefly after I turn the phone on. I have not tapped the Locus free or Pro app yet. After a week of trying I've only just been fast enough to get a screen capture. Any idea how to fix it? I can't suggest anything else has changed on the phone. Everything else is "normal". There has been no change of auto-backup folder. It seemed to happen when the icons changed (v3.13.1.5).

Jup sorry - because we are here in "(new)Versions" thread
...and PRO has no scale function :)

So OT: Problems with wrong size in PRO depends on wrong graphics inside cursor pack
thanks @gynta, so I think take home message is - compass in PRO version will look OK again in next release once it has scaling function?

It´s a cursor set created years ago.by  8)  ;D (http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=1939.0).
Feel free to use and to combine with other cursors.
thanks @jusc, I guess it's related to this new cursor scaling feature? BUT the preview of the cursor on the settings screen is completely different to the map screen; I wouldn't mind so much if they both looked equally good or equally bad.

hmm nice compass btw. So better to exclude this compass arrow from "scaling", what you think?
I now don't see any compass in the beta, and in Pro I now see this oversize fragment of a truncated triangle:

I thought it may have something to do with config.cfg setting: dev_gui_main_rescale_value=1.3
so I commented that out, but it made no difference to the compass.

settings/Maps objekts style/e.g. Map cursor > on top of next screen you can scale it
Thanks for the explanation Wolfgang. Nice feature. Did I miss the discussion/ how did you find the setting?

I tried Red Cursor V2 with large 150%

but the cursor on map is tiny little dot (can you see it? even at 150% is so small):

for comparison when I select the Locus v.2014 cursor it is displayed on the map correctly:

scale "navgation cursor" thumbs up 8)
could someone explain the new navigation cursor in the beta please?

@menion could you explain a little how/where Google Drive import/export has been added in latest beta? I looked in track > Export but nothing, also main menu > More > Export but nothing. Thanks.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Low-power tracking

Track recording on my old Xperia Z1 uses about 2% battery per hour. So unless you are on a very long plane flight is it really worth additional effort to reduce power consumption further? It seems most planes now have USB charging facilities too. Review your chosen track recording profile and set minimum distance AND time. I use 50m and 30s for a cycling profile, maybe for a plane it could be 2000m and 120s?

We are probably going "off topic" with the direction of this topic, but as a highway motorist you are generally expected to drive at a fairly fast (read non-eco) speed. If you choose to drive at an "eco" speed (what speed would that be?) you will be a hazard to other faster moving vehicles on that highway.

@Andrew: hmm then all seems to be correct. You have two choices:
1) "Generate commands" is ticked - then as i wrote, Locus generate completely new commands along copied track
2) "Generate commands" is UNticked - Locus create copy of track with all existing waypoints

If you wants to create copy that will also remove all waypoints, it is not possible now. For me it looks like all this was already said in mentioned topic http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/navigtion-commands-are-still-copied-to-new-track-when-unticked-generate-commands , isn't it?
Totally correct. Sorry for confusion. As you wrote I need wait until related topic is complete: http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/is-there-a-list-of-waypoints-in-a-track.

Hi Andrew. You have a track with some navigation commands and you tap on "Create copy" with enabled "Generate commands", right?
No, I had both boxes unticked (the default).
