Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.5.+ ( 1. 12. 2021+ )

New beta, and a nice improvement which I think is useful when you are displaying many tracks and want to highlight one.

You tap a track, it inverts as normal and the lower pane appears. Now you can tap the title of the lower pane and it minimizes to a very small size - so now you have a better view with still having the inverted track. You can move map and zoom.

Tools / Re: [Tasker] Remove timestamps from GPX files
« on: January 10, 2022, 18:58:25 »
b) As for the time tag, it is unlikely that it is spread over 3 lines. Just possible. It's just in oder to be safe. In another script, I delete trkpt tags. Those are most likely spread over multiple lines.
c) That's the point. -z kind of flattens to one line. Allowing analysis over (in the source) multiple lines. Usually sed operates per line. Then you can not match from xml tag start to xml tag end if tag start and tag end are in multiple lines.

Freischneider, if you have LM4 you don't need that, except maybe for the offline Geonames files.

Tools / [Tasker] BRouter routing files / Geonames downloader
« on: January 05, 2022, 17:48:35 »
Hi guys,

here's a Tasker script which downloads BRouter routing files (rd5). In the task, just adjust the rd5 path to match your own system. It will then download and overwrite exactly those rd5 files it finds in that directory. Task has no error handling whatsoever.

BRouter rd5 files are typically in:
//ExtOrIntSD/Android/media/btools.routingapp/brouter/segments4/

Please execute task in a reasonable manner and have server load in mind.

HTH.

Themes - Vector maps / Re: Editing theme in desktop
« on: January 04, 2022, 16:17:38 »
Guys I just remembered RouteConverter can show OSM maps and themes. I've just checked OAM v5 and Voluntary theme, it works, see lovely screenshot. Seems like a good way to test themes.

Stuff for this application goes into default dir "%userprofile%\.routeconverter\" - paths can be changed in options.

Does it show the v5 maps info? I think I can be really lucky to still be on Android 10.
Ooh, TAS, on the edge of the flat earth 😁

Merry Christmas to everyone here, great community.

A. Heard, strange, everything works fine here now. Mapsforge V5? Maybe try another map from https://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/openstreetmap/openandromaps//mapsV5/europe/

Just some translation issue. Will have a look today, of not maybe someone else fixed it. I'm mostly absent of translation, as I don't use the german version of the UI -  this makes communication easier.

@menion regards 4.5.5.2_1054: my previous experience with ZIP themes is still the same. The only change in release notes is "loading of... themes with space in the name". None of my 4 ZIP theme files have a space in the name. Using an OAM5 map, none of those 4 ZIP files are listed when tapping "Map Themes", and as shown last time I just get the green message "No map with themes is active".
Same setup here, but they work now as before again. Are the xml files on top level inside the zip?

When I tap the theme icon, a lag of 0.5s is introduced...but not sure here if it was this way before. Edit: nah, it's new I'm pretty sure, because it's mildly annoying, and I noticed annoyance never before there. 😁

"_themes" is an ugly name, also having all user content beside each other (themes, vectormaps, srtm...) is good for external backup. Better order, easier to find...

Theme attached.

Locus doesn't create its directories in Android/Media. Not in both, int/ext. Also, I didn't manage to make it parse it. Paths as you wrote. Maps, MapsVector. Tried restart LM, used the refresh function in the map manager...

Webp support works nicely, thx.

Same global map thing in my migration. But easy fix to set it right manually.
Of course, just thinking about newbies or people being unaware, it's after all a setting that you usually set and forget...

I am not sure. I think, after moving "maps" to the external storage the map in "Preload global map" wasn't configured any more.

Here I zoom from the global map into some random area, which is not cached. Hillshading is on and I use Sonnys 24mb hgt files. SRTM on ext sd (those are "NM" cards on Huawei). Map is OAM V5, Device is Mate20X.
I don't think it was faster on int sd. Definitely alright for me.

Question: How important is the speed for the elevation data ?
I'm using them on ext sd quite a while and noticed no problem at all.
