Thanks for the replies.
That´s what I expected, I was just hoping that there might be a way to either use the file name on import or at least to edit the Trail name in the Locus import screen.
But since I normally bulk import the second solution wouldn´t help much anyway.
I´ll just have to edit the files in future before zipping them and hope that Alltrails corrects their tags at some point, which i doubt. I think they want people to use their app instead of exporting the gpx tracks.

I often use alltrails to find good hiking tracks and then export the gpx files on alltrails.com (only possible on the website and not in the app) and import them into Locus.
It all works fine, but around two thirds of the imported tracks lose their name and are renamed into "Trail Planner Map" whereas the other third keeps their names.
On the locus import screen the trail name is shown, but after importing it, it shows up as "Trail Planner Maps".
Even with the ones that do have a name after import, it differs to the file name and also to the one on the import screen.
This happens on individual import and bulk (zip) import.
I am guessing that it's tagging issue in the exported gpx files.
But what makes me wonder is that the trail name does show up on the locus import screen.
So my question would be - is there any way to use the name that locus does find (I think it's the file name) as the trail name?
I have attached 2 example gpx files, one with a trail name and one with the "trail planner maps" name.

That was it. Turned it on and now I can select the categories.

I think that it would be useful to be able to select the notification categories within locus though, like you can in most other apps.

I am on android 14 and I don't have a notification categories option there. I can only turn the notifications on or off, but I can't pick any categories.

I´ve just changed phones and have installed Locus (latest Version) on my new phone (Galaxy S23). I restored all settings from a Locus Backup.
This morning I received 3 notifications on my status bar from "Locus news", Locus was not running at the time.
In all my many years of using locus I never once received "Locus News" notifications.
I checked within the Locus Settings, but could not find a way to turn them off. I don´t want to block Locus notifications in general, as I do need them for track recordings etc.
But i definitely don´t want any locus news notifications.
So my question is - how do i turn them off?
The Locus icon also has a little "3", indicating that I have 3 messages, but when I open locus there are no messages anywhere.

Any idea what could be causing the disappearance of the offline LoPoints or how to get them back?
Since my post in the other thread I have changed my phone, but the problem stayed. As long as I have an internet connection I can use the Online LoPoints instead, but that´s not always the case.

the changelog states "automatic loading of fresh info for offline LoPoints" . What is meant by that?
Any chance that it fixes the issue that sometimes prevents the Offline Lopoints from loading (as described here : https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=7527.0 )?
It seems to happen less often now, but just last week I ran into the issue again.
Suddenly the LoPoints disappear from the map and when you click on "LoPoints (offline)" they don´t come back.
Also the selection doesn´t stick, so when you go back to the "Map-Screen Content" screen the offline LoPoints are not selected anymore. The Online Lopoints can be selected and work.
Restarting the App does not help, but at some point it just starts to work again. I can´t see any pattern for this behaviour.
I was using the "Germany South" map (dated September 2021).

Edit - corrected some typos.

Even with the higher interval setting you might still get zigzags when you are in a building, as the GPS signal can be very poor inside. So you might find that pausing your recording when inside a building will give you the best result.
The only problem is that it's really easy to forget to turn it back on when you leave the building...

I'll send you the required Information via PM. I'm not sure if you will be able to reproduce it, as I still can't say what's triggering it. One day they just keep disappearing and the next day it's OK. I Used locus all day today and the POIs worked flawlessly.

The problem with the offline POIs not showing on the map (as described in my initial post) is back. I have changed from locus map Pro to locus map 4 and had hoped that that would solve the problem, but it hasn't.
Sometimes the offline POIs (viewpoints, ruins, toilets etc.) just stop loading from one second to the next. I have no idea what's causing it and even worse I have no idea how to get them back.
Restarting locus, restarting the phone, clearing locus app cache, changing the map, turning POIs off and on - nothing has helped so far. Sometimes they are back for a while, just to disappear again.
This has happened on two different Lomaps (Italy and Switzerland).
Online POIs don't seem to be affected, but they are no option when I'm in Switzerland, as roaming is crazy expensive there.
When I actively search for offline POIs (e.g. Supermarkets) it works just fine and they show up on the map.
Any idea on how to get my offline POIs back?

The zoom that menion describes works in Locus, but it was new to me too.
I was just confused by his "tap > tap up > tap and hold" description of it. You just have to do a quick double tap and hold at the end of the second tap. You can then swipe up or down for zooming in / out. Actually works pretty well, but my muscle memory still wants to click that zoom button 
I´d also prefer if it would actually load the map whilst zooming to see if I´m in the zoom level that I want. But it only reloads the map once you let go. You´ll see what I mean when you try it out.

I can already hide the zoom buttons, if you don´t have that setting you should maybe update locus. I have the same options as with the other map items (vissible, auto-hide, hide).

That´s a good idea, I´ll give the volume buttons a try. 2 finger zoom is activated, but I don´t use it much, as i normally use locus with one hand.
But I can also live with the way things are at the moment. With the size of current smartphones there is plenty of space left for the map.

And maybe at some point there will be a way to customize the GUI a bit. Because I also think that the side panel is unnecessarily wide  But I have it set to auto hide now, so it doesn´t bother me much.
I guess you can never get it right for everyone anyway - a narrower side panel leaves more space for the map, but also makes the buttons harder to hit under certain cricumstances (e.g. when biking).

- POI customization: we will see, it depends on other tasks that modify our priorities. I would like to, but ...

Ok, I´ll just wait and see. The current, pre-selected POIs work quite well for me, but sometimes it would be nice to be able to tweak it. Maybe there´ll be a xml file that can be edited instead of an in-App solution?

Now that I´m using Locus Map 4 it´s not as much of a problem, as the POIs can easily be switched off, but with Locus Map Pro I couldn´t find any way of turning POIs off - is it even possible?

- transparency of panels can't be modified
- zoom buttons position can't be changed
- color is based on day/night app theme that may be selected in the app settings

Ah ok, that explains why the buttons where grey when I first used Locus Map 4 (in the evening) and then white the next day. Changed it to dark mode now. Is there a reason why the grey buttons have some transparency and the white ones don´t?
I´d like to be able to modify the transparency and the zoom button position (I did prefer them in the bottom panel, as it left more space for the map), but can totally understand that you can´t make everything customizable.

Keep up the great work and I´m looking forward to the upcoming POI improvements.

I downloaded Locus Map 4 yesterday to see if the POIs work better compared to Locus Map Pro.
It´s definitely useful that you can now easily turn the POIs off, as they often overlap other writing.
Thanks for posting your roadmap, it´s good to know that the POI system is already being worked on.
I generally prefer using offline data, as it´s more reliable when you are in remote areas or in a country where roaming is expensive and therefor turned off. But I´ll definitely keep an eye on the development of the LoPoints service.
Are there any plans on making it more customizable so that we can choose which POIs we want to see?
Will there be a way of avoiding the current problem that POIs overlap other writing (town names etc.) ?

I also have a couple of questions about the Locus Map 4 GUI - can we adjust the colour and transperency of the GUI panels (top, bottom, side) somehow ? I preferred the more transparent look of Locus Map Pro, but couldn´t find anything in the settings. I´d also prefer to have the zoom buttons back in the bottom panel if that´s possible.
I am really sure that the zoom button and the hold map center button were grey (like the rest) when I installed Locus Map 4 yesterday, but now they are white and have no transperency at all. The only thing I did was to import my latest Locus Map Pro backup. Is this possible or is my memory failing me?
