Menion, in the hidden state, I noticed the bottom bar (Always visible) behaves differently depending on how the zoom buttons are set (Always show/Auto hide).

I think, Locus should use the second layout if no center button visible. But if we hide the center button, it picks the first layout and leaves this big notch where the button was before.

My guess is, you have accidentally linked the second layout to the Zoom buttons instead of the centering button.

I have applied below settings via a preset.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.14.+ ( 1/2023 )

Quote from: freischneider on February 21, 2023, 12:41:47I think they are exaggerating a bit here. Why do they always have the screen on ? Normally they are hiking or biking and look at the path. On Locus you look only if you need information. So the screen can stay off 70% of the time.
Yes, I agree, but everyone uses his device as he sees fit, in my case:
I start recording with Locus and only use the phone to take pictures or at crossroads when I have to choose which way to go, so during any excursion Locus is only active for a few minutes.
I prefer to turn it on for a few seconds and thanks to the high contrast of the icons I can see all the details even in full light, changing these settings in my case would be worse.
The copyright symbol could be less shiny (it's only there as a requirement) and that wouldn't be a problem, but the other icons the way I use them shouldn't be changed.

In addition, the displays have timers that first reduce the brightness and then turn off the display to avoid this type of problem, just set a timer that suits your needs.

Perhaps the problem arises for those who use Locus as a navigator in the car and want to leave it always active. If this is the problem, it would be useful to tie the brightness of the icons to a profile for example for use in the car.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Bottom Panel won't hide

Perfect. What you see is not an error but an intent. Panels try to use the smaller possible space now + it have to look nice  :)

Troubles & Questions / Re: Bottom Panel won't hide

The bottom panel was completely recreated and this is just a minor (from my point of view) issue in the more advanced settings. Anyway as Tapio wrote, it is already fixed so try the beta or wait please till the next app version will be published. Thanks.

@Mapper: you need to use the special LMP AFA version from Google Drive to have AFA power.
Google denied MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE privilege for LMP ...

Actually I love the small Track-popup screen in Locus Pro because it shows me both the distance from the start and the distance to the end of the track. For me that's usufull information when hiking, often I don't need more!
In the new large Track-popup screen I can't find this valuable information, am I overlooking something?
The way I see it there is no longer the small popup. The replacement is the new track screen that can be swiped down. I love him.
You want to see other information there (at mapper)
Suggestion: There is an option in the settings where you can select the content of the pop-up screen. Perhaps you can choose which statistic fields are displayed in the window (max. 4 units). For more you have to use the arrow to the right.
Perhaps you can also select other fields there. I would love not to see "Best Interval".
One more point about this screen.
When I click on the track, this sub-screen opens.
When I select a track in the track manager, the full screen opens.
I don't like the full screen because it can't be swiped down (other users too).
Proposal in the settings select which screen should open when selecting on the map and when selecting in the track manager.

@CabrioTourer42 My suggestion is to replace black in your icons with very dark grey. I've done this with the map icons for the new version of my Voluntary theme. That way they will work in dark mode, which generally needs low contrast icons and the difference is barely noticeable in the light mode.
An alternative approach is to replace the transparent areas with very low opacity white, such as #20FFFFFF. I've done that as well with some custom icons.

Yes, we are finally official  :-*

I'll re-organize a few categories on the forum and the new topic for LM4 is here: https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=7273.0 .

Well, what to say ... is Thanks enough? Maybe not, but it is probably not important. I believe, you here are mostly satisfied with the changes we did last in almost two years. Weather at least in central Europe starting to be really nice so I wish you mainly: stay healthy (families as well) and enjoy at least a little hike & bike adventures. It is something that connects us right?  ;)

I would like to keep the bottom in a fixed order. What may help you, and based on "thanks" not just you, is simply adding "Settings" to the top grid. This should cause, the settings at the bottom will be removed.

@Mapper
I believe I've found a reason for this small problem. Try the next version and let me know, thanks.

@slarti76
Hmm, I remember also that I wasn't sure if the fix will be enough, damn.

Sync: yes, this is quite possible. Nice observation, thanks. I'm adding both problems to my list, no critical, but at least the sync problem is definitely solvable, thanks slarti!

@GMDD
@freischneider: just for the record: the account used in Google Play is not important > Locus Map has no clue about which account is used, it is unknown information for apps.

Anyway, if you have Locus Map 4 and also Locus Map Pro on your device installed at once and you are logged in Locus Store in Locus Map Pro and you still do not see better prices, send me to please private message with your email (and if you send also a screenshot of side menus in Locus Store with your email account, it will be also welcome) you use for login to Locus Store, I'll check it, thanks,

@ADiet
Was this problem of proximity? If I remember correctly, app only receives "true" / "false" values based on fact if proximity is covered or not. Maybe it changed, do not know now. Anyway no settings in Locus Map is currently possible for this feature.

One more thing about the Backup:
I still think that "Back up settings only" should backup data\dashboard and data\presets directories, too. To me, they're integral settings. Right now, when I do manual backups, I always do the full backup and then delete the data\database folder from the ZIP to save space.

@slarti76
- Route planner problem should be fixed in the next version
- PNG - quite interesting that Samsung uses JPG.

@Mapper
no change in the recent version, but some versions ago yes. App firstly test if loading dialog is really needed and if only a few points/tracks should be loaded, no changes in maps, etc. then loading dialog is skipped and all is done silently on the background.
