- The complete OAM background for ZL 8 and above is now based on Christian's January 2026 OAM vector maps release.
- While more (100/200km) isolated peaks are getting OSM entries over time, also the algorithm for finding the missing ones needed some fixes and optimizations. In particular as the initial grid needed to be much denser than in my initial approach. Now, after months of computing the results are available in the world and regional maps, with 200 more peaks missing in OSM that have 100 resp. 200 km of isolation.

Finally, version 4.32.1 was uploaded to the Google Play (and on the Google Drive).

Google confirmed the issue on their side and, after a few weeks, fixed it.

Does this include the Android Auto feature?

New beta, release notes aren't displayed at the top. Then I went to the menu under App Info. As soon as I click on Release Notes, the app crashes.

What is for sure: Samsung screwed up their latest update.
Good chance there is zero Locus issue.

Latest beta from Friday on my S25u solves the battery problem that has been reported elsewhere. What's the magic, Menion?

Dies sind die Neuigkeiten:
- Der komplette OAM-Hintergrund für ZL 8 und höher ist jetzt aus Christians Oktober-2025-OAM-Vektorkarten generiert.
- Die Auswahl und Priorisierung der Siedlungen (Großstädte, Städte, Dörfern etc.) wurde nach 1 1/2 Jahren wieder einmal komplett neu berechnet.
  Da Siedlungen in OSM vermehrt als Relationen definiert werden, allerdings in uneinheitlicher Manier (selbst innerhalb eines Landes, von verschiedenen Ländern gar nicht zu reden ...), war eine Erweiterung des Algorithmus nötig ("Warum fehlt Grävenwiesbach in ZL 9??" war hier mein Augenöffner für das Problem). Und es gab noch viele weitere Fälle zu lösen.
- In Vietnam wurde diesen Sommer die Provinzstruktur stark verändert - die Hauptstadt-Ebene wurde entsprechend angepasst.

- After one and a half years, the selection and prioritization of settlements (cities, towns, villages, etc.) was recalculated once again.
  As settlements are increasingly defined as relations in OSM, but in an inconsistent manner (even inside one country, let alone between different countries ...), an extension of the algorithm was necessary ("Why is Grävenwiesbach missing in ZL 9?" was my eye-opener for the problem). And there were many more to be fixed.
- In summer 2025 Vietnam changed its province structure - the capital layer has been adapted accordingly.

@Andrew & Menion: if I understand the article correctly, the adb stuff will be on the developer side. Asamm will register for sure, so APK sideloading Locus should work as today.

bei mir kommt das nur wenn ich eine Suche mit Treffern habe, ein Treffer ausgewähkt ist, dieser aber nicht im Fenster sichtbar ist.
Wenn ich auf die Karte tippe, geht das Biest bei mir weg. Und wenn ich auf diese Lupe tippe springt der Bildschirm zur Lokation und ich kann "hide" wählen.
Probiert mit dem aktuellen RC.

Tested RC beta: backup broken on my devices, too.

Stable on S10 (2019), S25 Ultra.
Few crashes on Tab S10 Ultra, e.g. using 2 fingers to zoom across a number of levels.
Nothing serious, restart is Ultra quick ;-)

Copy providers.xml from your working/older phone to Locus-Root/mapsOnline/custom - I keep mine like an eyeball :-)
But as long as you have the information around your map of interest, you can build a working entry to this file yourselves.

PS: while access speed is no different in either location (data versus media), the benefit of media is file manager access.

In case you move the root folder, I do not know if the current media structure is MERGED or SUBSTITUTED.

If your LoMaps are recent enough, you could re-download in case of destruction.
In case you have Gold subscription you do not care and just download again.

The (in your case only map) data from media can easily be backed up to PC, in case you do not have Gold.
