Locus behind locked screen

I last used Locus for navigation for a period of two weeks about a month ago and all worked well. Now today navigation failed. Screen would turn on to inform me of an upcoming turn with the voice prompt but the lock screen was blocking me from seeing the map so every time I would have to try unlocking with my finger print which isn't always easy or ideal when cycling, all in all very frustating. The screen would then turn off after 10s which is the timeout I'd set. I also noticed the app had just updated so I tried restarting the phone. I also checked the following:

1. Full Device admin access granted.
2. Turn off battery optimisation.
3. Allow location ALL the time.
4. Notifications set to 'ALL THE TIME' in phone settings.

There is another setting 'Change system settings' which I've never needed to enable for Locus to work but I even tried enabling that but this didn't work or improve the situation. Has this new update changed something?

As a temporary solution, when using Locus, in your phone settings under "Lock Screen - Secure Lock Options," try disabling the side key lock and setting a maximum auto-lock time. This will allow you to turn on the screen without any issues, while your phone's security settings will still work as before. If you're familiar with Tasker, you can automate this process.

Actually the feature works. Turning it on is just not persistent over a restart of the app.

This was working for me several weeks ago I had no problem being able to wake the display and maps would show so not quite the same issue.

Sorry help me out here. How do you get to the above setting? You must realise Locus has got so many options it's not easy to find stuff sometimes.

Ace  :)  That looks like that should work. It was disabled but as I said before it worked fine several weeks ago so have no idea whether the update changed the setting because I certainly didn't (that's if this is the solution). So I have to go back into settings every time I exit the app?! What a pain in the ass.

Apologies didn't realise this was to do with a logic error in their code from the update I had yesterday. I thought you were referring to an old issue on a particular model. Thank you :)

Incidentally sort of related but if during navigation I want to switch to another app is there a way of doing this without having to use biometrics/passwords. If I understand this may have been something that was blocked by Android and the App developers couldn't override. May be I'm barking up the wrong tree.

You need to disable the side key screen lock in your phone settings.
To make this work, go to your phone's settings, then screen lock settings, and disable the "Side button lock" option. You can then control your phone's locking using the "Auto-lock when screen off" setting. If you use Locus, set the "Auto-lock when screen off" setting to the maximum time. You can set it to 10 hours using Tasker. If you don't use Locus, set the "Auto-lock when screen off" setting to 0 seconds or another convenient time.
With Tasker, you can fully automate this process, eliminating blocking issues. Locus and other apps will always be available.
In Android 15 (Security & Privacy - Device Unlock - Gear - ...)

This will also allow you to switch between apps without locking the screen.

Apparently we have to wait until November for a fix. But why?

Due to some significant changes in the background, it is not currently possible to publish a new version.

I'll at least publish a stable Beta version tomorrow and will try to speed up a new version a little.
