OK, sorry

Hi, in Tilemill it is possible to make clickable layers (teasers at hover or tap) and export these as MBTiles (see http://support.mapbox.com/discussions/t ... -clickable).

The MBTiles show perfectly in Locus, but the interactive part (the teasers) do not show. Would it be possible to implement support for this feature? It would expand the usability of Locus far beyond a simple map viewer.

Since the latest update, Locus shows this grey bar on top (grey with at left Locus icon, not sure how you call that bar). It does not serve any purpose but takes away screen estate.

Maybe it has to do with this option (which I never noticed before, but which I might have simply missed before) for full screen in the general option. Selecting it doesn't change anything though.

I would simply like to view the maps that I have downloaded from your site all at the same time on my computer screen.

It sounds like a simple idea but I appear unable to find a linux program that will open a"sqlitedb" file and display one or more at the same time.

It is indeed not very intuitive. I created a small tutorial to convert a Google earth tiled map to RMaps SQLite, which is a format Locus can read: //http://pvanb.wordpress.com/2012/03/19/create-mobile-maps/. Although your conversion is the other way around, it might gives you some clues where to start. But first check if MOBAC can handle your file format. It can handle RMaps SQLite, which is the format Locus normally uses I think. The MOBAC website lists the formats, or otherwise, click the button 'new' under the 'Atlas content' box in MOBAC.

Now I gotcha! You want to look at the map on a real computer. Yes, that would involve a conversion of the sqlite, something I have not done. I am not a GIS professional, so at this point, I invite one of the heavy hitters to jump in here.

Have a look at mobile atlas creator (MOBAC - http://mobac.sourceforge.net/). I allows conversion between various formats, including various mobile formats and Google Earth. See if you format is there too, and if so, you can convert it to Google Earth. A Google Earth layer is not a proper GIS raster layer that can be edited, but at least you can view the whole map on your desktop.

Hi, I am using Locus with my own GIS data layers, using Maptiler and MOBAC to create the RMAP SQLite maps. These are both free (open source) tools which work on both Linux and Windows. See my blog http://pvanb.wordpress.com/2012/03/19/c ... bile-maps/ for a short tutorial. It involves a few steps, but once you get the hang of it it is simple enough

on the topic of the multiple formats, it certainly is a pain, but MOBAC seems to be able to convert quite a few mobile map formats back and forth, with the added advantage that you can create the same map for different mapping apps with virtually the same effort.

Edit; of course, Maptiler and MOBAC are desktop solutions, so not everybody in this thread will be happy with it, but I am not sure how soon you will see mobile apps that can do the same, not for very large maps anyway.

It would be fantastic if you could add such a feature!

I see from another post (viewtopic.php?f=13&t=946) geocaching is not what I am looking for, but rather something like implemented in OroxMaps, where you can attach a textfile, a picture, voice memo and/or video. Menion, anything that could be implemented?

Hi, just bought the pro version, and I am really liking it. One feature I would really like to see is the option to attach (txt) files, similar to the option to attach (linking) pictures. Preferably the user should be able to select an existing one (using file browser), to create one directly and to edit already attached ones (by opening whatever text editor is the default on the device).

I am not sure the field notes (geocaching option) is something that could be used, as I have no clue how that feature works (which brings me to another wish, or question, is there a tutorial about geochaching in Locus?)
