Hi balloni, could you describe your question a more detailed?

For example what is the source of your loaded Cache (GPX/PQ, online via Locus)? Are you online or offline while opening the Cache listing? Where exactely do you want a notification of that there are images present?
If being online, images are loaded automatically after opening a Cache for viewing in Locus. If offline, there are placeholders for images on the listing-page, as well as on the image-page. If the source has been GPX/PQ, Locus firstly doesn't know about attached (Spoiler-) images at all before applying GC-Offlinizer or "Update Geocache" command of Locus after import.

In my personal use case (where I load most of the Caches as GPX/PQ), I always start GC-offlinizer after I imported the Caches (with option "Download all images via Live API" ON). After that I'm sure I've all images for offline use in the field with me.

Hi Sonny,
Thanks for asking. When I import geocaches online via .gpx, PQ, or directly with Locus using the GC code, I unfortunately can't recognize links to images or spoiler images included in the listing; images included in the listing are automatically loaded and saved when viewed.
Running the Offlinizer is generally very time-consuming, especially since the saved images are deleted after 2 months of inactivity.
When I'm out in the field, I'm often without an internet connection... and have no way to load the images.
For me, a notification in the listing preview indicating which linked images exist but haven't been loaded yet would be very helpful.

I'm aware that GPX and PQ files don't contain any information about these images.

Hi Balloni, so your usecase is quite identical to how I import Caches and use them offline in the field.
So for getting listing+spoiler images after our GPX/PQ import we need to use GC-Offlinizer once for all Caches. At least for those ones we plan to visit during our next trip. Now all of these Cache contain all images.

Depending on the amount of Geocaches and Internet-speed this is time-consuming, but could be accelerated if you just load images of Caches you plan to visit. I'm not sure about that images are deleted after 2 months of inactivity although if cache is still present in point database - are you sure?

But I'm still not sure what is the need of "notification in the listing preview indicating which linked images exist but haven't been loaded yet"? What about the image-"placeholders" of non-loaded images on the image-page of a GC where you can see in detail which images are present and which of them not loaded yet? Do you want to see this placeholders additionaly on listing-page too (which is not very ideal in my mind)

An example how GC1CT3N looks like in the image-page after I imported its GPX: Just placeholders of the 2 listing images present. Locus is not able to know about 6 attached images and 1 background image yet (beacause this info is not within GPX/PQ file)
But after applying GC-Offlinizer, all 9 images are present within image-page - all loaded, no placeholders.
