@slarti76: All photos taken during track recording are displayed, regardless of whether they have geotagging or not.

However, it would be useful if you could go directly to the folder where the photo is located via the track gallery. Then you could edit/delete it directly and call up the Exif data including coordinates (if available).

Thx for explanation. Still, it would be great to be able to easily turn on display of the image location (where available) from the track details.

Hi guys,
this looks like a lot happened duringthe  last 14 days ... this will be long  :)

I've made internally around 10 notes and will look at them during next days.

@Žajdlík Josef
we were thinking about something like this a long time ago. Anyway, we are already working on the better picker for media when directly attaching to any LoPoint. Hope this helps. Your solution ... maybe later.

@40°
login problem > I do not have unfortunately any solution for you. One user also wrote about probably identical problem on the help desk. And I've found, that whole login system I'm using for maybe 10 years is deprecated and will be removed from Android this year! So I'll have to write it whole again with hope, it will solve this issue as well (and bring some new ...)

"Link with preset" crash > fixed, thanks

@Graf Geo
media folders > thanks for the idea. We will look at it. At least some manual sorting, like in the case MyLib folders ...

Thanks for the intensive testing, appreciate it!

New photos after restart on S7 > what Android is on this device? It is possible that it is already too old. We will check it.

List of folders > I'm aware of this need and we will do something with it.

Show/hide media at tracks > I believe this does not need to be easily changeable. Is it a problem to have this functionality permanently enabled/disabled, based of your needs?

Open photos in the system gallery > we will look at it

Meged tracks > yes, this is a problem. App took the time of the first point and the last point and displayed all photos in this range. I'll improve it so it at least takesthe  first and last point with valid time.

"1LC hint when adding LoMedia" > we've discussed it yesterday and we'll improve it

Upload LoMedia for offline LoPoints > do you have the latest LoMap with new LoPoints? "Invisible point" should not happen anymore as online and offline databases are identical (in time of offline DB generation of course).

Path to photos > we no longer work with files directly. All media items has in the system unique ID and we access all photos and videos over this "id". Anyway, I'll check if path can be obtained somehow.

Click on the category in detail of the point > this is not yet finished. Offline functionality needs to be implemented here as well.

Images in the "cache" directory > hmm, this probably happens because you have the Locus directory in the "Android/media" folder, right? Damn.

Other map apps > please open system Locus Map settings > "Open by default" and press "Clear defaults" at the bottom.

@Tapio
crash on rescan > isn't this already solved in the latest version? If not, it will be in the next.

Unable to disable rotation > hmm, never saw this. I'm checking the code and made a minor change that should help. So next Beta for test. Thanks.

@slarti76
moving of the map in the editor > hmm unwanted side-effect. Uff, this was complicated to find out the reason  :-X. Fixed

@CabrioTourer
KMZ import > there seems to be a problem with the nested directory in the KMZ. Try to move content one level up, so "files" and "doc.kml" will be directly in the root of the KMZ file.

@Ulrich Kiermayr
selection of point > has to be done by a checkbox directly in the list of points. Agree, in the point itself (its detail), the confirmation button is missing there.

track sync problem > it was a fresh, new, manually created route? Or some older, already synced here and there? Hard to simulate it right? Hmm.

@freischneider
invalid photos in tracks > hmm, these are serious problems. Photos from all places are took here. So it looks like we need some kind of selector? Hmm. Removing > photos should be removed from the Locus Map automatically when you remove them in the system. Even after re-opening Locus Map, photos are still there?

The photos are now gone after deleting them. It just took a little while.
But I have photos that I don't want to delete, but they still have no place in Locus Map.
Photos from WhatsApp
Screenshots
But sometimes I take a photo of a product or advertisement event, and I want to keep some of them but not have them in the track. These also appear in the track. If you could delete individual photos directly in the track but keep them in the gallery, that would be great.

@Menion In both cases it was an newly created track. I think(!) I shared the track (via link) before the cloud sync ran. (but not 100% sure though)

But I agree, its hard to simulate. The Post was more of a heads up, wether others also experience issues. I will observe it - and maybe figure out something reproducable. ;-)

@Menion: I hope you had a nice holiday! Thank you for addressing all these points. 👍
Here are my comments and responses:

some manual sorting, like in the case MyLib folders ...
That would be a good solution for now.

New photos after restart on S7 > what Android is on this device?
Android 8.0 – so it should work.
(I use the old device as a bike computer, among other things.)

List of folders > I'm aware of this need and we will do something with it.
Thanks!

Show/hide media at tracks > I believe this does not need to be easily changeable. Is it a problem to have this functionality permanently enabled/disabled, based of your needs?
It would be handy, as I prefer a slim track panel, but would like to be able to quickly display the gallery when needed. However, I interpret your answer to mean that it would not be easy to implement.

Merged tracks ... I'll improve it so it at least takesthe  first and last point with valid time.
That would be great!

"1LC hint when adding LoMedia" > we've discussed it yesterday and we'll improve it
👍

Upload LoMedia for offline LoPoints > do you have the latest LoMap with new LoPoints? "Invisible point" should not happen anymore as online and offline databases are identical (in time of offline DB generation of course).
Yes, I already added under EDIT that it seems to work. 🙂

Path to photos ... Anyway, I'll check if path can be obtained somehow.
That would be very helpful, as I really miss this information and constantly have to search laboriously to find where the images are located.

Images in the "cache" directory > hmm, this probably happens because you have the Locus directory in the "Android/media" folder, right? Damn.
Yes, Android/media (as recommended) 😉

Other map apps > please open system Locus Map settings > "Open by default" and press "Clear defaults" at the bottom.
Thanks, that helped!

Beta 4.29.0.5 4.30.1.7
Thank you very much!

Quick check of some (not all) new features:

Track gallery: Display file path and option to open photo in standard app: excellent!

Track gallery in merged track still does not work. (Recorded track merged with track created with the route planner). Regardless of whether the manual track is at the beginning or end, with or without a gap, photos are not displayed.

Geotagged media on Galaxy S7 with Android 8: Forced rescan (T:Full reload) now works without crashing, but new geotagged photos are still only displayed after restarting Locus. The number displayed in the folder is also only updated then.

Prevent scanning of cache directories: Seems to work, I still need to test it more thoroughly.

Import/export track time + 1h: now ok (after a quick test)

Track recording notification: ok now.

Further tests in the next few days. 🙂

Experts & power users may/ probably know that the red setting badge (below) means Android Location setting is turned off, but how does the average user (me) know what Locus is indicating? There is no way to tell.

composite screen cap - locked position left side/ no location ride side
You cannot view this attachment.
Can this be improved? The button has a question mark (?) in the middle but any tap is ignored - unhelpful. I suggest a tap displays an informative message. Simple improvement?

Geotagged media rescanning now working, but doesn't find anything. It's all below internal SD /DCIM/ folder.

I wouldn't have known what was going on either. I would have just clicked on the cogwheel to see what appeared. But the red question mark could help to identify what is wrong with the position. Then I can access the settings via the cogwheel and know that I can solve the problem there.

I don't see any great need for action here. You quickly get used to what the red badge means. Perhaps replace the cogwheel with an exclamation mark or a dot, or leave it out altogether (just a red circle) so that the association with "setting" does not arise.

Turning the red cogwheel into a function button would probably be difficult. It would be a small function button inside a larger one. You can't click on the blue lock separately either.

Merged tracks and track gallery

I tried a few things:

A merged track from one created with the route planner and one recorded track never displays photos. Even if the manual part does not contain any timestamps, Locus creates these 1970 timestamps when merging, and Locus does not seem to be able to cope with this in order to display photos.

Merging two recorded tracks leads to other problems: for example, I merge a track from 15 July with one from 17 July. The track gallery that is then displayed also contains all the photos from 16 July! In addition, all the photos are listed in a jumbled order and not in chronological order.

I also edit many photos and keep the originals. I copy some photos to other folders. In the track gallery, they are then all displayed multiple times.

I have no idea if and how this can be fixed. At the very least, the order of the photos should be displayed correctly.

Would it be possible to add "show Media" to the quick settings or directly to the side panel in the future?

@Graf Geo - how would a new user work out what it means? Normally a tap on the centering button does *something*. When Location is turned off, it then does nothing. I just mean a toast-style orange messagebox, not a button within a button.
