When I refresh the website, all libraries are made invisible and I have to switch everything on again laboriously that I need to work.
This is really annoying! >:(
Is it a bug?

Definitely not resetting my settings within an app - you can just try it with Google Maps. Everything stays as it was, all search results, all additional information windows, he screen is simply redisplayed.
However - and this is the most important thing here: the data is reloaded from the server, including changes to the cloud data by uploading changes from the smartphone (cloud sync).

I must misunderstand. If I browse to (say) https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-42.8961423,147.3219005,16.5z in my Windows web browser, then press F5 or ctrl+F5, the map is simply reloaded the same as browsing the 1st time to that URL. You talk about "website" and "app" as the same thing.

Hi Der olle Hansen,

I can totally understand how frustrating that must be! Unfortunately, this behavior is due to some technical limitations on our side, which we hope to address in the future. When you make certain items visible on the map, we have to reload all the data from the server, which can lead to a lot of traffic. The main issue is that we end up downloading everything you had visible previously, even if you don't need it this time (which can happen if you forget to hide things). On mobile, it's a bit easier because the data is stored locally.

Could you share a bit more about why this feature is important to you? My guess is that you're using it to track areas you've already been to, maybe creating a heatmap or something similar?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

I just try to work as it should seem logical: if I have a (comparatively) huge screen, a decent physical keyboard and a mouse with which I can easily position precisely on the computer and a browser application for LOCUS MAP, why should I then use the (comparatively) tiny screen, the virtual keyboard of a smartphone and my thick men's fingers to set points?

At Locus Maps, you treat the browser application so neglected ... it is really not fun to work with it.
So I still couldn't decide to an annual subscription. Instead, I jump from monthly subscription to monthly subscription - I'm just not convinced yet.

Please, could anyone from the team contact me by email, I have a productive idea/suggestion that I don't want to discuss in public.

until a few years ago, there was no browser application! And there was just one Android developer. There is no team of 1000's like @ Facebook or Google, just a few people. I find it amazing how much has been developed over the years with so few resources.

The web browser interface is ew and quite basic still...as with gold you can sync to locus server, currently its a basic way to access your cloud synced data...its not google maps....ive been using locus maps for almost 15 years....

The main reason for the gold suncription is to help fund development....consider it like youtube channel membership, or patreon etc, gold emmbers get extra features, but the silver and even free is very usuable....the more gold subscribers, the quicker we will get more features!   And in recent years the speed of features been rolled out has increased since gold membership became available.

With a lot of small app developers they actually listen to their users, unlike Big tech like google etc...

There have been several times when ive posted an idea, a few hours later Menion has implemented and posted it will be there on next release...not many app developers will do this....

Thanks for both positive and negative feedbacks guys. Believe us, we know that our web app is still lacking and we are definitely not on the previously projected track with the development. But I can confidently say now, that we recently managed to speed up the development and I hope you will start to see that!

Regarding the topic of reloading the page in particular: I can't promise that the web will soon be able to reload to the same state even with thousands of user-content pre-loaded on map. But the current situation when it doesn't remember almost any state is really bad and we are finally also close to start moving with this issue forward.
