After many years, mainly thanks to the strong push from motorcycle users on the help desk (and my own big curiosity about how this may work), I've decided to create support for Android Auto systems (not Automotive for now).

Firstly, it works and with some tweaks, I believe it will be usable!

Secondly, the whole system is really limited, and it's usually quite hard to find out, how something may be done. So be aware, that many ideas you will have simply can't be implemented for technical reasons.

How to test it: simply update the latest Locus Map 4 version with the APK file from our Google Drive directory ("auto" subdirectory). Locus Map should then appear on your car/motorcycle dashboard.

Warning: it is really an Alpha version that needs a lot of field testing. I sit more on the bike than car, so your help is needed, thanks!

Thanks for this! I just installed it, and what struck me first is that the colors seem very off (land is purple and water is brown, for example) -- see below. I thought it was perhaps in dark mode but I don't see an option to turn it off, and the app on the phone doesn't look anything like this, so I think it must be something else.

EDIT: The strange colors appear on every map (satellite, topo, etc) not just the base map. Also, it seems independent of Android Auto's day/night settings (I tried both). I hope this feedback helps...let me know if you want me to test something else.

Seems ok now, fyi. Maybe just an odd glitch?

Hello, firstly, thanks for tests!

This indeed is a dark mode. If this mode is enabled or not decide the core Android Auto application, not the Locus Map itself. Odd colors are because we had not yet created a proper night map style, so it is only a color-inverted basic day style.

First of all, a big fat THANK YOU for going Android Auto!

i was using my phone on offroad bikes so far, but the camera module does not really like the vibrations.

so, got myself an 6 inch Navyfly Device, so i can leave the phone in my pocket or backpack.

gonna test all as soon as possible and keep you updated!

again, big fat thumbs up!!!
