Navigation "out of route" notification text to speech
« on: September 09, 2018, 10:06:07 »

The navigation "out of route" notification sound has the option to set "Text to speech" but I am not able to configure any text here.

A general test text can be set for "Text to speech" in the menu Language & units -> Text-to-speech -> Test phrase. Is this where I should be setting the text for the "out of route" notification sound? And does the general test text configured here apply for any other notification sounds?

It would seem more logical to put the option to configure the text under the navigation "out of route" menu.

TTS out of track message is not directly customisable, but is internally fixed in the app.
But it is possible to customise the whole range of existing navigation order by the technique described here.  xx.tts edit !
Carefull this edit is very very critical !  Pse read whole tread very carefully and completely thereby study the example files in attachment.

Start here. (Use google translate pse).

Find my personal edit example en.tts file here:;topic=3245.0;attach=4851

Thanks Willy for a very precise answer.

My question here is, "why you wants to edit these TTS messages"? App has predefined texts to say in case of "out of route". Are they misleading or better, any suggestion to improve them?
