Google play store - google play services stopped .....

A couple of days ago I could not reach the google play store anymore ... 'looking for information' .... blablabla
Removed services, installed it again etc ... no luck.
So now I was sick and tired of those google interventions every day, messing my phone up with ten new updates or so, everytime installing it again on the SDCARD0 (without space)
A couple of months ago I had to root my device since Sony messed up my gps configuration with wrong data. It is working still perfectly now, (gps fix in three seconds !), but could it cause problems with the play store
No idea about that. Can I still update my locus pro through another channel ? You cannot believe how good it feels to be in control again of your phone ... No, factory defaults is no option. :-p

I'm not aware of any other simple option how to update Locus Map Pro without Google Play. Even if you download apk file somewhere, I'm worried you will be stuck at loading screen, because Locus will need to verify a license over Google Play application.
