Hi Menion,

first of all I would like to thank you for the great app Locus Free / Pro; I used the free version for some time and bought the paid version because the advertisements annoyed me, and also to support your great work. BUT: I really supposed that you checked before that you are allowed to use all these maps!!! Really, that is unforgivingly: the whole world talks about license-issues for music, videos, and MAPS, that's nothing new, isnt' it? And I also don't believe that all these maps-providers changed their licensing over night ... I know from your homepage that you are rather young in years and in this business, but let this debacle be a warning for the future: check such things first, and don't sell people something you aren't allowed to sell or don't own.
Nevertheless: I don't want my money back, altough I don't hope to get legally all the maps back. The app is very good but of much lesser use for me without especially without "Outdoor Active / Austria", Bing and Google.

I bought this app because it is brilliant and does exactly what I need (although some of those things I didn't know I wanted until I saw them in Locus!)

If I was a new user and only just saw Locus on the market, I would still pay for the pro version, even without the map sources built in.

I will not be asking for a refund!

Good job Menion; I look forward to further improvements to your excellent app!

For my uses in USA-New England, the OSM maps work just fine.  I just paid more for a pack of cigs than this cost me.  You obviously work hard at this and it shows.  Keep up the good work.

I think the Wanderreit maps are stopped from even displaying in Locus. Independend of zoom, the STOP tiles pop up and asks : does your request meets the term of use? (in german) ?
Right ?

Hello,

I am re-discovering the power of Locus, and all the new functions and modifications .... following an update of the version on my Dell Streak.

Until now, I was using Locus as a companion software of c:geo, but now that c:geo will not be maintained, I was looking to back to Locus as some friends told me that Geocaching functions was also available in Locus ! I am premium member, so no trouble to use Locus with my favourite pocket queries ! and I support your will to increase such functions !

But this is not exactly the object of this post .... I have also discovered that, like Mobac, restrictions have been put on Map types .... some disappointments at the moment  :|  .... that rapidly disappeared when I discovered the ArcGis maps ....

My question is then : are ArcGis maps free of license problems ? no risk to have the same problem as for Google maps ?

Hi, no there is no risk. I'm careful now :)  They have also very huge limits against other maps, so there should be no problem

read here http://www.esri.com/legal/licensing/termsofuse.html. Hope I do not miss anything

I just reinstalled Locus Free after updating the custom ROM on my Droid and now I no longer see the Esri ArcGIS Online maps. How do I get those back? Also I'd like to see more of their base maps as options (like their new National Geographic map).

Thank you!!

I know you won't like this, but I could easily block the ads and install the APK for an older version to remain complaint with Esri's terms. Where do I download APK of version prior to removal of Esri maps?

Berkley,

Would you be able to use Map Tweek to add Esri base maps back into Locus? I wouldn't be breaking license agreement as I am already licensed to use the Esri Web Mapping API.

I am sorry, ArcGIS is out so far...

If you have some kind of license for it, you should contact ESRI.
