GPS position stops during Track recording

Hello,  I'm using LocusMap since long time, now I'm with v 4.35 and recently got a new rugged phone  to be used for outdoor activities.

The phone is a Rugone Xever 8 with Android 16 and I have a couple of problems which I never found with any of the previous phones based on Android 14.

The biggest problem (the second problem ina separated topic) is that during track recording sems to stop when the application runs in background.  When I reopen locus I see that the position gets restored after a few seconds and the track connects the last recorded position with a straight line.
This not happens all the time, it seems to me that it happens only if you don't touch the phone for a long time.

This looks as a well known problem but it seems to me that I did all the necessary configuration to disable battery optimization and app permission. The old phone with Android 14 worked perfectly after a proper setup.
I have Locus installed on another Android 16 phone but never used it  for track recording.

The per-app battery optimization settings on Rugone Xever 8 seems a bit different from what I have on other Android 16 phones (i.e. Samsung S26), but it seems to me that I did all the necessary settings and nothing alse is available. 

The settings I did are the following, In case I can send You more information and screenshots:

per application settings (locus)
GPS auth.  "allow all the time"
app battery usage  "allow backgroud usage"  nothing else seems available

general battery settings
battery saver "off"
ultra saving mode "off"

Locus map settings
always screen on (always)
unlock the screen (active)
run locus map as a service (active)
GPS ON for track recording (active)
stop when standing still ((disabled)


I can't find any other relevant settings, Somebody had similar problem ?

Always allow background activity.

Allow background usage is ON

I revised carefully the 3 suggestions on the user manual but It seems that I'm compliant with any of them:

1) gps usage "allow all the time"
2) battery saving is globally off
3) google services assisted location   "disabled"

I remember my Huawei Tablet from years back. I had the same problem, even after applying all of those 3 measures. Huawei was know to be brutal under the hood to preserve battery.
With your rugged outdoor (!) phone I assume they have the same motivation. Maybe there is some specific advice from the manufactorer?
