Hello,
Yesterday I had an unpleasant experience while searching for caches with Locus. All resolved caches are in the Unresolved folder, which I regularly update and upload to my mobile phone, the path is \\: Galaxy S24+ Device \Internal Storage\ Android\ Media\ Unresolved. This path is also set in Locus in the System Manager settings / Custom subdirectory. So far everything worked and resolved caches were displayed in Locus. After the last update, Locus stopped displaying these caches on the display and only displays caches via the "Live Map". I see the uploaded cache folder in the Media folder. I don't know if the problem is with Google or Locus, or where I should upload the folder so that Locus can load it. Thanks.

I managed to solve the problem by reinstalling Locus, but it is quite depressing to reinstall Locus after the update to display the solved caches.

But what I did not find was where to edit the configuration file config.cfg. I use GC Summary icons to edit the cache icons and to use it, I need to edit the parameter "geocaching_icon_pack", and change it to "geocaching_icon_pack=GC-summary.zip". But I did not find this parameter in the new config.cfg.

Hello Menion,

in the version 4.36.0 place names are doubled and the duplicates have moved about 220 km to the north-east.
Depending on the zoom level the duplicates are sometimes shown and sometimes not. E.g in reality Klagenfurt lies about 230 km in the south-west of vienna but is shown only 30 km away.
The issue occurs only with LoMaps, not with OpenAndroMaps. I faced the issue only with the map of Austria.

Best regards
Lucas

... same issue with 4.36.1. Re-downloading the Austrian LoMap doesn't help either.

Hi!

I am experiencing intermittent dropouts when displaying and recording sensor data (cadence and power output) transmitted from my Bosch Performance Line SX e-bike.

Setup & Troubleshooting already performed:
Locus Map runs in the foreground.
All battery optimizations and background power-saving restrictions for Locus Map have been completely disabled on the device (Poco F7 Ultra).

Observed Behavior:
The cadence (RPM) display sporadically drops (displays -) for several seconds during the ride.
Power (Watts) values are not continuously recorded, resulting in missing data points in the track logs.

Expected Behavior:
Continuous, uninterrupted display and logging of cadence and power sensor data.

Environment:
Device: Poco F7 Ultra
App: Locus Map 4.36 & 4.36.1
Connected Hardware: Bosch E-Bike (Performance Line SX) with latest firmware

Additional Information & Testing Assistance:
I understand that your team may not have a Bosch e-bike available for hands-on hardware testing and might be developing this integration without a direct test setup.

I would be very happy to assist you in troubleshooting this issue! I can readily provide recorded .fit files, debug logs, or help test beta builds if needed. Please let me know what data or logs would be most useful.

I'm a bit annoyed. I've (unfortunately!) installed the latest release version, 4.36.1. It has the code number 1221, so it's more recent than the latest beta version, 4.36.1.1_1220. That's why I (foolishly) assumed it would at least be up to date with the latest beta version.

Unfortunately, improvements that were important to me and included in the beta are not included in the newer release version. For example, the auto-pause, which is now triggered again after just 15 seconds (in the beta, this had been increased to one minute).

I then wanted to reinstall the beta, which is only possible after uninstalling the current release version. Or so I thought. Unfortunately, the beta cannot be installed afterwards; I've had this problem before, see here.
Somehow, Locus isn't being uninstalled properly or completely, because as I inevitably had to reinstall the new release version, I noticed that I didn't have to log in again, didn't need to import a backup, etc. So all that was still there. Is it because the 'Keep xxx MB of app data' box was ticked? Does this option save not only tracks, waypoints, maps, etc., but also account details, settings, version, etc.? Do I have no choice but to deselect this option during uninstallation so that I can then install an older version?

Or what do I need to do to ensure that Locus is uninstalled cleanly and completely so that I can install a previous version?

@Graf Geo
photos over map - thanks for the feedback. I've improved the system a little. Selection on the map now excludes the track, it also directly opens the photo with the full track gallery, long-click to center on the photo also reduce the height of the track panel

huge amount of photos - this is not yet solved, I'm waiting for ideal idea in my mind  :)

old Beta > heh, sorry. I wanted to publish really only verified fixes, not a many features that are "in process". New beta will be tomorrow for sure! And yes, the "Keep app data" tick caused it. It saves the whole app settings. Simply > do not uninstall if it is not really necessary.

@Pcmann
sorry for an "unpleasant experience", unfortunately, it is not clear to me what the problem was. What was inside this "unresolved" folder that app was unable to load?

config.cfg - no longer exists. All settings are available in the app's expert settings.

@luce
labels on the map > interesting problem. We are unable to simulate anything like this. Does it happen at all zoom levels where this text is visible? Also with any other labels, or just "Klagenfurt"? A little mystery ...

@Titanyus
thanks for testing and offering help. There is one best way > in the Friday, install Locus Map in Beta version (link in my signature, new version at Friday, simply update, no re-install!). Then, in the settings of the added bike/sensor, enable "Record raw data to file". Do a short ride where this problem happens. After the ride, stop the bike connection and long-click on the app main menu button > "Upload to support" and write to me an report ID. Looks complicated, but it is easy. Thanks.

Perhaps, as a first simple solution, an option called 'show/hide photos on track details' in the settings? (Not the same as the existing 'show media' setting)? Ideally placed in the track info panel?

Version 4.36.1.2 (9.10.2026)
  • add: the Wear OS watch app is now part of Locus Map: install it from the Play Store on your watch, the separate Wear for Locus Map add-on is no longer needed
  • chg: the watch app has a new dark design, pinch zoom on the map and heart rate on Wear OS 6 and newer
  • fix: (GOLD) cloud sync no longer deletes points and tracks on a device that was out of sync for months
  • fix: a backup restore that fails part way no longer deletes your points, tracks, folders or settings
  • fix: the track editor no longer deletes the waypoints of a track it failed to load
  • fix: track recording keeps its last points when you pause and close the app, or when storage fails for a moment
  • fix: saving a recorded track is no longer interrupted by rotating the screen, and the track is never saved twice
  • fix: a track recording started without location access asks for it instead of doing nothing, also from the widget, a watch or another app
  • fix: logging in to the Store no longer freezes the app on a slow connection
  • add: point icons packed in a GPZ file can be SVG images, which win over PNG icons of the same name
  • add: the background image of a geocache listing is shown and saved with the other listing images, topic
  • add: the report dialog lists the files that will be sent
  • chg: geocache log photos download in a smaller size, which saves mobile data, topic
  • chg: the track editor shows short tips in its tools menu instead of a slideshow at first start
  • chg: DXF export shows points as visible marks in CAD programs, and tracks keep their colour
  • chg: CSV export writes altitude and bearing with one decimal and ISO times, and marks names that start with =, +, - or @ so spreadsheets do not run them as formulas
  • chg: TCX activity export writes the track name at the start of the notes
  • chg: the live tracking profile wizard has a refreshed look and a compact header in landscape
  • chg: (SILVER) a tap on a track photo on the map opens all photos of the track, starting at the tapped one
  • chg: "Send crash report" is now one dialog, it uploads the logs when you are signed in and otherwise opens an email
  • chg: the report button on error messages opens the same dialog and sends recent logs too
  • chg: the AR view shows the elevation of a place next to its distance
  • chg: markers in the AR view are bigger, the distant ones most of all
  • fix: (SILVER) Bluetooth LE sensors you already added, like heart rate straps, reconnect even with the device Location turned off, topic
  • fix: (SILVER) a Bluetooth sensor's battery level no longer disappears after 15 minutes of a ride
  • fix: DXF and OV2 exports no longer break on line breaks in names or points without altitude, and OV2 keeps accents and rounds coordinates correctly
  • fix: CSV export has one header for points, an empty line between tracks, no minus sign on zero values and an empty time for a point without one
  • fix: TCX export keeps the parts of a track with pauses as separate tracks, leaves out heart rate and cadence values the format does not allow, and no longer fails for a track without points or an unnamed course
  • fix: TCX and FIT exports of a track without times get valid times instead of 1970
  • fix: FIT export no longer fails for a very long course name or a track without points, and does not deliver a half-written file
  • fix: center button in the track detail keeps the point picked in the full chart, topic
  • fix: (SILVER) a tap on a track photo on the map opens it directly instead of asking to choose between the photo and the track
  • fix: (SILVER) the track stays highlighted after you open one of its photos on the map
  • fix: (SILVER) "Show on map" for a track photo lowers the track detail, so the place is no longer hidden below it

Wear app is finally available. And it is not an update. It was rewritten completely.
Unfortunately, installing the app without Google Play is not so easy. Here are the steps for the brave one.

Needs ADB from SDK Platform-Tools and the watch on the computer's Wi-Fi.

Every `adb ...` command runs **on the computer, in a command line** (Windows: Command Prompt or PowerShell, macOS / Linux: Terminal) opened in the unzipped `platform-tools` folder, on macOS / Linux type `./adb` instead of `adb`.

1. Watch: Settings → System → About → Versions, tap *Build number* 7 times.
2. Watch: Settings → Developer options, enable *ADB debugging* and *Wireless debugging*.
3. Watch: *Wireless debugging* → *Pair new device*. Computer: `adb pair <IP>:<pairing port> <code>`.
4. Watch: back on *Wireless debugging* (IP with another port). Computer: `adb connect <IP>:<port>`.
5. Computer: `adb install -r <watch APK>` (copy the APK into the `platform-tools` folder first).
6. Open Locus Map on the watch; it offers to uninstall the old "Wear for Locus Map" if present.
7. Turn *ADB debugging* off again.

Have a nice weekend. We have a team-building next week, so can't promise I'll react extra quickly!

hehe, 1222  8)

Thanks. Track photos on map: much better now!

It's a brilliant feature overall – now you no longer have to search for and select the right folder and/or time period just to view photos from an older track!

All that's missing now is that brilliant idea for 'a huge amount of photos' on a track.  :)  ;)

problem with space below the chart > I'm mostly developing on the A54 device with exactly oneUI 8.5. No problem and none of my colleagues is able to simulate it. Will be to add some debug logs into next Beta version for you.
Problem exists also in 4.36.1.2
Is there a way I can help to find and fix the problem?
