The issue with the empty space below the charts still exists in 4.36 but only on SAMSUNG devices with ONE UI 8.5
I tried
TAB S9+    SM-X810
TAB S6-lite SM-P620
A36 5G      SM-A366B/DS

NOKIA 7.1 and PIXEL 8a work as expected.
I attach a little video to explain it.

Has anyone a SAMSUNG device with ONE UI 8.5 working without this issue?

@Menion. I have a (simple) request regarding "any_icon" transfers by a gpz file into Locus map 4.
Would it be possible to give priority to the icons in the gpz root, similar as applied in the gpx viewer app? 
The Current Locus map 4 app gives priority to the internal icons.
As a result, some custom icons transfered in the gpz file do not always show up as the expected ones.
I'm attaching a single gpz file in case the mode has been somewhat "forgotten" in the meantime.
Since Locus internal doesn't recognize gpx wpt sym Bench the expected icon is correctly shown.
- Probably good to know: I only use import by set "display only"

new charts were introduced in version 4.33 (end of March 2026).

route in route planner - guidance - lost > yes, that's how I wrote it years ago. I still think it is correct. If you plan and want to have a permanent route, save it, it is fast. For one-time quick navigations, this is a perfect system.

Guide reversely is not a setting > well, agree. Its usage is really, really low and I can only offer to change the title from "Settings" to something like "Advanced". But this rarely used option should remain hidden.

problem with space below the chart > I'm mostly developing on the A54 device with exactly oneUI 8.5. No problem and none of my colleagues is able to simulate it. Will be to add some debug logs into next Beta version for you.

auto-pause > it is starting to be more complicated now  . "Activity recognition" system triggers changes usually once per 15-30 seconds. So there is currently no time limit. What happens is simply evaluated immediately without a delay. Same with the start of the recording after the pause.

Anyway, improvements in the next version > not just internal Android "Activity recognition", but also a GPS location change and the speed from the connected sensor (speed sensor, e-bike) will have effect on the auto-pause. Still > do not expect it to have almost instant reactions, but it should work more reliably. Anyway tests needed ...

@menion does "activity recognition" mean accelerometer? Even when stationary but good +/-2m GPS accuracy, locus often decides there is movement. It could prevent map rotating while stationary too. I may sound like a broken record, for people old enough to understand.

Hi menion,
In the current version, the satellite icon sometimes appears only in orange after launching Locus, even though there are enough satellites available. The accuracy is correct.
Turning the GPS on and off does not fix this display error. Restarting Locus resolves the problem.You cannot view this attachment.

icons > harder than expected, but solved for the next version. In case you import your file with the "Bench.png" icon as separate waypoints, it will also fail to load an icon after a restart. Fixed as well by storing the full relative path to the icon in the internal point structure.

accelerometer > not directly. App use for some time "Activity recognition" system built into Android. It is quite reliable I think, but has slow reactions. So I made improvements, where location and also external sensors play a role. Testing is needed > based on it, we may decide if this is ok or needs another round.

orange GPS > I've not noticed this problem yet. When this happen, when you quickly close and then open the app? I'll try to do a minor changes that should help here.

I look forward to testing. I've said (too many times sorry) that when stopped the map nearly always still rotates & can be very disorientatating. Seperate, but will mention, the map also rotates when saving the track, but I thought you agreed this was not intended?

Yes, this is a little different problem. It points to a method "is the device moving?".

I was currently working really only on the "Auto-pause" option.

Thanks, it's great that both apps will support the gpz icons display in a similar way.
in addition to the Locus TBT navigation track a Pitstopper.net GPZ export offers to include the necessary wpt icons.

The wpt gpx extension contains some additional data as there are:
<anchor> A "hsxx" notation specifies the optimal icon position. The classic Locus notation was used as example.
<color> as  #AARRGGBB or #RRGGBB specifies the icon background color. (cruiser-osmand-organic maps)
<background> specifies the icon background shape as square, octagon, or circle. (osmand)
