Automate with MacroDroid

Hello everyone,

Because of a road trip we are planning, I would like to ask the experts if it is possible to automatically record my car journeys.
Perhaps this has already been discussed here and I just can't find it.

I have read that this should be possible with MacroDroid, but can someone help me further with this because I can't figure it out.

What I would like to achieve is that every trip is automatically recorded as soon as I drive off and then saved once the trip is finished. The trip can then be analyzed later at leisure.

Why would I want this? I don't want to burden my actual mobile phone. I would leave an old phone in the car for this, and knowing myself, I would probably forget to manually record every trip.

Please explain as if I were an old lady, possibly with screenshots 😆

I'm recording everything after leaving house, but via Tasker. "Leave home/enter home" detection is complex, needs some tolerance, is not failsafe. I'm doing this since 5 years now maybe, like 1/20 is not recorded, or stop recording isn't working... many reasons. Home WIFI is the trigger. In my screenshot you see, over 25 seconds it looks if device is in my WIFI. Only after that it decides that it is at home, and stops recording.

The record start/stop is done via Broadcasts.
