Merging two tracks uses only one color

Hi,

in some cases I have multiple tracks related to some hiking activity: the first track is the main hiking path, the others are small deviation to shorten walk or to reach a particular point.

My main path is e.g. blue, the others are e.g. red.

When I merge paths from library, the resulting track has only one color which makes reading them on maps more difficult.

I see that multiple tracks are still stored separately and exported as different <trkseg> in gpx files.

It will be nice to retain original color because this allows reducing the number of routes stored in the library. And also make simpler to search them.

Hi Yuri,

app internally works with this merged track, really like with one single track. Split to <trkseg> is made really simply, just by remembering at which index it should break. So storing multiple styles for a single track should bring a huge complexity to the whole system. Sorry.

I understand that changing styles could be a lot of work.

What about numbering track segments? so main segment could display #1, first variant (the 2nd track) visible as #2 and so on.

Locus Map does not work with something like laps or segments. Not sure how many users find this useful ...

The only idea that is partially similar to what you want is this one.

So a low interest, and I personally also think it does not currently bring a big benefit. Thanks for understanding.

Color in multi-trkseg or color in a multitrack gpx file ?
- OsmAnd only, does offer color support in trkseg. (Color extension)
- Garmin, Locus, Cruiser, OsmAnd, Gpx viewer, Organic Maps support color in tracks.
  (Color attached in 3 different gpx extensions)(The exact order is important)

http://www.bumabuma.nl/motor, too, places a strong emphasis on preparation, making effective use of color.
Originally available only with the Garmin color extension.
Only the xsi extension has been added here as an extra.
No Topografix, since Locus reads the Garmin extension.

The example file is attached as a compressed gpz file.
The limited file size allows the attachment in the forum.
(Compressed gpx with gpz file extension instead of zip).
(For Garmin and others first must be unzipped into gpx).

A gpz file can be imported directly in as well Locus ,Cruiser and the GPX Viewer app.
