Hello,
quite often I keep experiencing the same issue while recording a track on a normal walk/hike.
The attached screen shows the latest 2 issues I had, looks like crazy gps  but actually it records correctly with other apps like Garmin and etc. running at the same time.
This issue leads to totally wrong overall data like distance and climb.
Please note that as suggested, I am using only the offline maps.
Recoridng in this way is quite useless.

HW: Iphone 16 Pro 18.7.1

Hope to solve this issue :)
Thank you very much for your support

It looks like Locus (app) is suffering from battery saving measures. Very few track points are being recorded. If I enabled battery saving while track recording on my phone, there would be a similar track. There is an extensive guide in the Locus website for details of how to ensure Locus runs correctly.

maybe a starting point https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6

Hi Andrew,
I think that that is not the reason of the issue, first the environment is on IOS not Android, 2° Locus has no energy savings settings on, 3° and probably most important, I hope, to solve the problem

is that this issue occures always when I am standing on a site, not moving, like for a break, pause or what ever similar  situation.

Hello Piero,

I apologize for the inconvenience. To resolve this issue, I would like to outline the following steps:

1. Verify that the precise location setting is enabled in the iPhone Settings App (Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Locus Map Light -> Precise Location). This setting must be active during recording.
2. Please provide me with a screenshot of your recording profile settings.
3. You can assess the accuracy of the GPS in the status screen (the satellite icon in the bottom right corner). Vertical and horizontal accuracy, as well as the error status, are crucial.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Best regards,

Petr Janda
