1. so there won't be a track gallery in the long run? Why can't you make it available for the time being as in the last betas and adapt it later (in "a slightly different style", as you wrote) when "Sync of attachments" is implemented one day? It's a shame and even annoying when a good new function is first introduced and then removed again.

2. Done. Even if I don't hold out much hope. Many ideas in the helpdesk quickly slip down the list and then fall out of focus...

1. sorry, I know, my mistake. Have to be more careful than before. Same with the "Default action".

I used to push smaller functions out quite quickly, without a wider discussion in the team. But it seems, it won't be so easy now ...

Hmmm, at best a collapsible/expandable hierarchy with the possibility to show/hide all sub-items.

At the very least to be able to activate/deactivate all eye symbols.

Is there a way you can trigger the android media indexing? It's unfortunately not as transparent as the direct file access. You sometimes take pictures, but it takes a while until it appears eg in Locus, Google Photos etc...

I'm currently using the beta version and the track gallery is still there. I have the new version on my second phone for testing purposes and the track gallery is missing.
I took a lot of pictures on my vacation and they are in the track gallery. I don't want to lose them.
So I'll stick with the beta for now.
The Track Gallery will be added later. Will I still lose the pictures when I update?
Or will all pictures on the phone be assigned to the Track Gallery later, even those from the past?

I would say the latter.

The track gallery in the beta (which I will continue to use for now) is just a link to all the images that were taken during recording (regardless of geotagging).

I installed the beta and the new release version a few times (changing between both versions). Every time I reinstalled the beta, the track gallery with all corresponding images was back.

However, "later" seems to be more of a long-term prospect. Maybe sometime next year or even later, as Assamm is making it dependent on the introduction of attachment synchronisation. At least, that's how I understood it.

Sticking with the latest beta for that long probably doesn't make sense.

I don't need attachment synchronization at all. You could also operate it without synchronization for as long as you want.
If it's just a link, then older tracks should also have images. But there are only those that were made after the introduction. You could also link older ones based on the recording time.

For me, photos are also displayed in the track gallery for old tracks, provided I have them on the device.

Menion, Geotagged Media, will there be more changes in handling? I have maybe 200 folders, turning 100s of eye symbols on/off is not realistic.

Otherwise I'd have to rename and put 20k images into one folder and try to use date filtering.

Hierarchy was better in the old instance of geotagged photos.

Main issue is Android handling of local photos oos very broken...
i used to have my entire personal photo colelction on an sd card, and easy to remove and sync externally every so often

With phones losing sd cards, and all the file system issues, dealing with Androids "improvements" is a bit of a nightmare.

I made a helpdesk post this week, with the new geotagged layer you can no longer create a poi from geotagged photo...

I vote for a completely new look at locus and photo integration, with photo being able to be imported in to photo point POI, and fully synced to locus web ( and also bilk downloadable, like google takeout)

But a lot of people dont want to keep geotagged photos in one pplace, and personal photos in anotehr, which you could do with old system. I suggested a while back google photos integration, but it looks not easilt done, dropbox integration is easier,  ie the actual photo lives on another cloud, and just the thumbnail is attached to the POI

Hi guys,

firstly, yesterday evening, a new 4.31.2 version was released on Google Play.

It brings two important changes: firstly, it solves a critical issue in restoring backups (sorry for this).

Second positive change is improved handling of map labels in vector maps, which should reduce crashes and improve performance in low zoom levels! Hope this won't have any side-effects, because there was not enough time to test it (because of the backup problem)  .

as mentioned correctly by @Graf Geo, photos are not attached to the tracks. App really only grabs photos <from - to> time interval available in the system and displays them. So removed functionality does not mean removed photos. No worry about it.

we have also felt there is something bad with the system gallery. We were pushed to remove our old solution, because it used methods marked as "deprecated" and that should be removed in future Android versions. So we now use official recommended solution, but so much unexpected problems with it ... 

Anyway, yes, saving of poins from Geotagged media overlay is currently disabled. I hope this is not a big problem for now. We need to improve whole system of attachments. Then, this feature may be re-added back.

Hi there,

after installing 4.31.2 the App freeze at startup for some minutes before continuing.

I rebooted my phone already, but the App still frezes with a white screen saying "Lade".

After a while I forced the App to quit. Now it behaves as always.

PS: In The meantime I figured out, just to quit the App when it stuck at Startup. After a restart, the app starts really quick.  But after ending and restarting it again, it freezes again. It is repeatable like a flip-flop.

Bug? LM is set to EN, but theme options are now displayed in DE, which is Androids language setting.
