Hi, I am writing this email because I really appreciate Locus Map. Since I read in this forum that someone was able to use QSTARZ as external device, I just bought QSTARZ BL-1000ST to obtain GPS data from it.

As I configured it (Bluetooth pairing works in Locus Map, it says connected), I cannot see any saltellite data inside Locus Map when I choose as external GPS sensor the  "QSTARZXXXXX device"

The device shall send GNSS data to Locus Map directly. Am I missing  to make it works?

Locus is upgraded to last version available for Android 15

Thanks in advance

A Little addition: When the QSTARZ BL-1000ST is connected in the GPS & Sensor screen of Locus Map, it says "no valid data"

I would like to share NMEA logs as suggested in other threads, enabling Settings > GPS & Sensors > NMEA recording and app then records data into "app/data/nmea" directory. Unfortunately with Android 15 we can no longer access to app/data without rooting the device...

Hello nanson,

Have you connected this GPS in the Sensors manager as "Bluetooth 3 GPS" device? There is no reason why this should not work. In the GPS screen, you see at the bottom that you have enabled "External GPS" right?

Hello nsanson,ยจ
this will be a little complicated. I though that your device is BT3 and seems not. In the world of BT4, there is missing standard for GPS communication. Implemetation in the app works for many devices, but it is not guaranteed, it will work for all (like in case of BT3), unfortunately.

So, may you please install the nRF Connect app from the Google Play. After installation, start it and in the first "Scanner" page, select "Connect" next to your device.

After that, you should see a list of services. It may be expanded to display also its so-called "Characteristics". And this screenshot should be useful to me.

Here is the screen from my device Columbus P-7 I use for testing. So something similar should be visible also in your case. Thanks.
