Sun positions on map

I did this for planning the ideal walking direction. Kinda overkill, because sun positions are pretty clear anyway.

So here I have Tasker put sun positions (starting from 8am until 1pm, plus the position now) relative from screen center onto map.

Unfortunately Tasker did only refresh after a small map drag, so you cannot see how it painted the points subsequently.

In the point titles it displays azimuth and angle over ground.

Cannot share yet because of some task requirements, like a lat/lon/azi/dist calculator of mine.

Here's your soundtrack for your walks ;D
This feature may not be very useful, but it is an appreciable programming exercise.

LOL, but I must say I was thinking that a sun icon at screen edge (which would move on map rotate) would be a nice helper for navigating. Currently we have it on the compass.

I'm convinced that having too many options in an application is counterproductive. If it's already present in the Locus compass, I think it's sufficient. And the fact that you, with such a specific need, have the ability to solve the problem yourself is already a great opportunity.
I often use the Peakfinder app in the mountains mainly to identify the peaks, but it also allows you to check the position of the sun with its arc in the sky as well as simulating its position at different times and it also works offline.
Here it is the web version:

It's the "best friend" of Locus when I'm outside.

Peakfinder, that's awessome! Well, as for the sun on the map, my imaginary use case is this: you can align real sun with sun icon and can be absolutely sure about correct map rotation. And you can then compare map and landscape. (that's why the sun on compass is not helpful here)
Just because there's sometimes problems with compass rotation.
