Merge two Data Backups?

Hi,

somehow on my last long distance cycling tour the SD card in my smartphone got corrupted, and I lost all my old points - using Locus Map Classic.

Started over with a fresh map for the tour, setting up points as I went.

I still have most of my old points that I marked out on my old smartphone, and did a manual backup.

I can import that old backup fine on my current smartphone, but then lose the new points.

Or I can re-import the new points, but then lose the old ones.

Is there any way to safely edit / merge the files in the backups?

[The points mark out previous cycling trips ... it's not a tragedy if they are lost, but if I can restore both new and old - it'd be cool. ]

Thank you,
Mnemon

backup+backup would be a highly sophisticated SQL exercise that I would NOT recommend.

A safe way is to
1) backup BOTH waypoint and track DBs (at least partially (?) done as I read from above)
2) put the SMALLEST DB into its place in the Locus folder tree
3) select everything you want to preserve and use the "export" function of Locus to get the stuff (POIs and tracks) into files
4) now exit Locus put the LARGE DB into place
5) do all IMPORTS from those files.
Done.
Good luck
Cheers
