  • track overview - shown map only uses a small amount of screen,  a lot of area is used and wasted with information not that relevant to me
  • point, red marker - no action when clicking on it, centering to point not working
  • LoPoints. When enabled also other symbols are shown. I guess their of 'other poi', though them are disabled in this menu

New LoPoint
Well, though it makes sense to optimize data generation, workflow and handling to optimize resources, the profit for the user is more or less low.
The GUI enhancements are a good start and a general rework was on the list for at least 1.5 years, maybe more, IIRC.

My concern is mostly data usability.
From my point of view the strength of Locus has always been community awareness and community support and the potential of integrating data of other community or enthusiast projects and open or free available sources like OAM, brouter, Sonny's DTM, themes etc.

As far as I remember the offline POIs had a huge community interest and some individuals managed it to reverse-engineer the used db-structure IIRC, with huge efforts, maybe it was also delivered at some strongly progressed point.

Will the new used db-structure be documentated and released to also be used by the Locus-community, to also integrate other POI-sources, adapted OAM-data or other future projects?

"a lot of area is used and wasted with information not that relevant to me"
It may be irrelevant to you, but it is not to many other users. However, I would appreciate it if this track info panel could be individually configurable. Unfortunately, this is not planned for the time being.

"point, red marker"
Check the Expert Settings to see if "Centre on point" is enabled under points.

"LoPoints, other symbols"
Yes, LoPoints can only be enabled all or none. You can only highlight certain categories.

My choosen long track title results in 3 lines, this of course consumes a lot screen space. But the rest is not collapsable and the map size is still fixed and finally limited.
IMHO the applied size is too small.

I disabled this setting as it can be annoying while checking different poi in a close area and poi can already be seen though not centered (so centering is more confusing than it helps), also search results in focus and then automatic map centering, and potentially loosing focus in situations not desired.
Enabling the setting activates the desired focus, centering map, sure.
IMHO pressing the dedicated UI-element (icon with indicator of off-screen-position) should also provide this functionality if actively pressed, my suggestion, currently it does nothing.

I have also deactivated this setting for the same reasons.

The red point red marker works for me when searching for a location or item via the global search. It opens a menu "Select item", clicking on the lower entry with the square moves the map there. See screenshot.

It does not work when selecting a "nearest point" in the left panel. I wrote about it here and Menion replied here.

hidden "Other POIs" > as I wrote, if you remove all 3rd party databases (OAM, ...) and update all LoMaps - so there won't be any V1 database version, this item won't be visible at all.

Uploading a photo to LoPoints > it will be a lot improved in the next app version, so this option will be available only for our LoPoints. It does not make sense for other sources. Also, the app previously updated the details of the LoPoints with online data. This will now also work only for "Asamm LoPoints".

Update of LoPoints V1 > since the next LoMaps update (July 2025), V1 database will be removed from the update completely. In the long vision, this "Other POIs" should be used only for custom databases.

top panel > thanks, finally fixed

Split track times > this is a safety mechanism to prevent some nonsensical times. Anyway, your use case is perfectly valid. I'll update logic a little to the next app version.

@T-mo
New LoPoints > I believe the profit of the change is quite big. No difference in online/offline work. A lot richer content of POIs, full compatibility of offline and online, better placement on the map and for use - very easy to modify both worlds at once.

Db documentation and support for 3rd parties > no, not planned and definitely not recommended. New system is a lot more complicated than the previous and we need to keep compatibility with the online and iOS world. That's why "Other POIs" will exist and will still be well supported.

Track detail > you are looking on the track from MyLibrary, probably. So it is a full-screen page with small map. Display the track on the map if you need to see more of it.

Red pointer > "click action" should be fixed in the next app version.
