@Graf Geo - see "drinking water" in attached screen shot. In the internal list of synonyms, "water" --> "drinking water"?

@GrafGeo

What do you change in parameters? Could it be possible, to  create a few walking-profiles  with that different parameters, storing specific values in the name of the profile, or are there so much different configurations?

I change everything according to my needs. If I'm planning my jogging route or want to walk alone, in pairs or in a group, for example, I set different speeds.

If it has rained a lot, I activate the "wet conditions". In the mountains, I tend to plan with navigation commands, in the flatlands without. I have gained my own experience as to which parameters are best and when.

Unfortunately, you can't save the same internal profile (e.g. walking) several times with different parameters, which I have of course already tried.

Yes, unfortunately that doesn't work. I absolutely agree with you, the global search still has many shortcomings. In the results and in the sorting by distance.

What about adding the possibility to open the parameter settings by long-clicking the profile title? (Everything else could stay the same, including the three-dot-menu.)

Then you can do it with the menu as well. That's something you don't change very often.

Quote from: Graf Geo on June 03, 2025, 09:57:52There are still issues with the global search for LoPoints with defined area. See this post and here in the helpdesk.

Expert settings -> Center on point OFF

If the searched object is a normal LoPoint outside the screen, a red circle with an arrow appears and if I click on it, I can select the element (click on the square icon) and the map jumps there. After closing the LoPoint slide panel, the map remains there. Ok.

If the searched object is a LoPoint with defined area outside the screen, the map immediately jumps to this LoPoint and opens the slide panel.
But: I can't stay at the position I'm looking for. If I click the Android back button or swipe down the panel, the map jumps back to the last position before the search.
If I click on the arrow to the left of the search title (name of the LoPoint) in the slide panel, I return to the search list.

It is not possible for the map to remain at the searched LoPoint.

Supplement: the problem does not occur in the iOS version.

Hi @Graf Geo  ,

your problem should be fixed in the next release.

His point is exactly that he changes it very often...

missing pattern > interesting problem I'm unable to simulate. Both features use the identical method of drawing track/route on the map, there is no difference. May you share a track with me, where this happens? Thanks

@Graf Geo
missing quick access to profile parameters > check "Route planner > menu > Settings" in the next app version. There will be new "Quick profile parameters".

Hmm and what about the following change >
 - long click on the main profile button > display of parameters, instead of toggling to manual mode
 - long click on the bottom-left "+" button > add single manual segment (to current map center), instead of "Select location" dialog?

Because if you want to add multiple manual segments, it is now a lot easier to switch to manual mode from the list of profiles. If you rarely want to pick a certain location from the "Select location" dialog, you may add it at the bottom itinerary ...

@Menion:

Thank you for responding to my request.

What sounds most interesting is what you have unfortunately crossed out (Route planner > menu > Settings" in the next app version. There will be new "Quick profile parameters".) Not possible?

- long click on the main profile button > display of parameters, instead of toggling to manual mode:
That might be a good idea. Even if I then have to scroll to the bottom of the profile list every time because the manual profile is listed last. Unfortunately, the list cannot be sorted differently. But I could live with that, as the manual segments can also be set to + with a long press.

- long click on the bottom-left "+" button > add single manual segment (to current map centre), instead of "Select location" dialogue?
This is already happening. :) A long press on + always leads to a single manual segment. I use this often and find it very practical. This can be set in the route planner menu.

On the subject of patterns and "Track overview": This always happens, regardless of the track. Not only the pattern, but also the colour of the track is ignored. The default line is always created (in my case red, 3 px).

agree, it may be useful. Unfortunately, I do not have "first trackpoint time" easily available for sorting in the database. There will be a major database update during next year, so I'll try to keep this in my mind  ::)
Menion, I'd like to take you up on that ;)

So, just as a recap, because I stumbled over it again several times recently:
When splitting a track, both parts seem to be keeping the exact same "creation date/time". Now, when sorting the track list by creation time, they're obviously in the same position, and then the tiebreaker is either alphabetical or just random (I'm not sure). But one of the tracks is now clearly after the other, so there is a correct creation order. But now, this leads to tracks in wrong order in 50% of the cases.
I initially proposed to give the second part of the split the creation time of its first trackpoint. I do understand the argument against that, because it's technically not the creation time. As an alternative, I proposed a new sort order "By track start" (date/time) or "First trackpoint time".
So, is it possible now?
