Hello everybody,
This is my first post in this forum and I hope somebody can help.
I had been using Locus Pro classic(?) for some 20 years. Now I have the problem that I had to migrate from my older Galaxy A20e to a new smartphone (Galaxy A16).
I already had succeded doing this by using the Samsung Smart Switch migration utility. The Locus Program had been installed correctly, and I managed to transfer my data by replacing the newly created data files by the backed up  ones. So far everything was working fine on the A16, and so I cleaned my A20e.
The problem now: the A16 got lost. Fortunately, I still have the backup files on my Laptop. Unfortunately, I could not find any source to install the classic Locus Pro. I installed Locus Map 3.70.15 instead, but connecting my A16 to my laptop I cannot find any directory structure resembling my backed up structure. There is an empty directory Android/data/menion.android.locus, but I was unable to copy files from the laptop to this directory.
I have no further idea to proceed.
Greetings fom South-Germany

Locus 3.7 is in fact what was called Pro years back, hence that step was correct.
Your Laptop backup, is that the zip from Locus backup function? Or a copy paste of everything you found under /Locus?

Hi Emilio. I've done this transfer from device to device many times now. It's always been tedious. The best way for me has been a full backup to ZIP on device 1. A full restore from ZIP on device 2. I use FileZilla to transfer files between devices. The poor part has been locating the backup function inside the new Locus.

From my notes: Settings > All features > Set up > Setting > Backup & filesystem > Backup manager > Restore from backup > System file manager > select appropriate ZIP.

best of luck

Hi Andrew & michaelbechtold,
fortunately I had saved the original zip file from the backup function, so thanks to Andrew's notes I found the (rather hidden) restore function. And that finally worked with my Locus 3.7!
So thank you all!

Well done Emilio.

Even doing a "search" within LM for "backup" doesn't result in any help. Very frustrating.

Really? Locus Map 4 already searches in settings & functions in the core search screen (still incorrectly named "Online addresses and places").
