Wow I noticed, Geotagged Photos, the ones turned on via Map Content Panel, (I have 1000s) are displayed on the map much faster. Like 10x as fast. Is it my device or has there been a change?

Accelerated map - it appears the map loading & display has been considerably sped up - is this the release note change below? Wow - it's amazing.

I also have the feeling that it displays faster. I have not noticed any errors.
What I noticed (but already before). Sometimes it takes a few seconds to open the library and sometimes it is open immediately.
Search in library ok, more info in the helpdesk.

On my new S25 ultra Locus matches the speed of your video (there are 30,000 images on the device, most of them geo-tagged).
My 6 year old S10 does quite differently: it takes long time until it starts displaying at all (same amount of photos, as the new one got them from this one), and they finally pop up WAY slower than on the S25.
I would attribute that to 6 years of technology advances ...

PS: while display on the map is really cool, viewing a series of photos is painful. Always go back to the map, tap, get new list, maybe hit the same photo again if you are not careful, ...
Do I miss a trick here, or do we have to ask Menion to give us swipe left/right through the list (which has good sorting preferences,  BTW).

Swipe brings up the question which one to display next, not trivial if you think about it. For sure solvable, but as of now my impression is Menion doesn't see the problem yet, I guess he doesn't use it.

Btw, Michael, I asked twice for a better preview in LM4 in the bottom pane, but nobody understood or supported me. I am convinced the thumbnail size is bad, not useful, the preview should use the screen width. Information will move down then, but my argument is, in the context of image viewing the picture itself is of biggest interest, not data like address or altitude.

You don't miss a trick. The feature is not very developed probably because many users don't use it. For me it's existential, re-visiting same places...

I see two sort options:
- distance
- updated
Those can be used for next/previous selection and should cover most use cases, I believe.

And I fully agree re. wasted space, i.e. the thumbnails should be larger. Currently the top folder needs 100 MB for 10,000 photos. That is nothing. Doubling the thumbnail size could take 400 MB or so. Absolutely no issue.

To clarify, I mean this one... And if swiping were possible on this level, while map in the background re-centers... would be brilliant.

And I also think that the icons in the list can double on size without increasing the text spacing.

Hmm, you moved to good old "GeoTagged photos" feature ... it needs more "love", agree, but not yet, sorry. The future is uncertain because of more and more restrictions on access to user photos, so we need to analyze it more. Also, hopefully synchronization of attachments and all-around attachments is coming this year, so this will most probably be A TOPIC.

But, now performance, memory problems and small tweaks => pre-weekend 4.28.3.4 Beta version.

New Beta 4.28.3.4

"Hold map centre" fails after opening a point

When I click on a point or a LoPoint on the map (offline or online doesn't matter), the "Hold map centre" function no longer works. The map is no longer centred after 10 seconds. When walking/cycling etc., the map does not remain centred, the cursor runs out of the screen.

The only solution is to restart the app every time. A very annoying bug for me.

It suspect it has something to do with the new "Option not to centre to the point..." in the Expert Settings. I tried the option first and then I noticed the bug. However, the bug happens regardless of whether this option is activated or not.

Edit: Fortunately, I still had the apk of version 4.28.3.3, which also has the coding 1175 and could therefore be reinstalled easily. 😅
(Maybe two consecutive beta versions should always have the same coding so that you can easily go back to the working previous version in case of major bugs).

Hmm thanks. It won't be related to the new change ... something different, will look at it.

And versions ... I usually do it this way, but meanwhile I'm still trying to publish Android Auto on the Google Play that force me to increase version with every attempt, sorry.

The "Hold map centre" problem seems to have been fixed at first glance. 👍
