Battery drain, LM with high consumption

I have already reported several times about high battery consumption by LM. On my current phone (Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G), I always observe high consumption when I do not actively quit LM. For example, if I just check something in the track list, then switch to another app, LM generates an audible message every few minutes, but it is not in a message logging app, and the battery consumption increases significantly.

Does anyone have any ideas about this? Location sharing is not active.

sorry to read that Joska. I can't help, but FWIW my experience with a Samsung A52 is about 2% battery drain per hour with only track recording (no routing), display mostly off, no mobile signal, all other apps disabled (as far as possible). Without recording, the consumption is much lower.

Do you have any idea about the sound, which repeats approximately every 1 or 2 minutes.

In the beginning, I thought, it could be a message, but no info is logged. It only appears, when I start locus. The problem appeared on different smartphones, I used in the past, so I think, it could be the result of a specific configuration in locus. I think, the result leads to the battery consumption too.

could it be a Locus notification about GPS signal continually aquired & lost? I have all the sounds from LM disabled at present - see Settings GPS Notifications

I also think it should be related to the GPS lost/acquired as @Andrew Heard wrote.

Question is, why does your device try to obtain GPS location when the screen is off? For this, check also app settings > GPS & sensors > Disable when hidden. Should be disabled!!

Maybe, it is a great misunderstanding, but I think, LM needs to get information about GpS location while screen is off too.

So, I activated GPS on start, GPS while track record, GPS while lead to destination, and disabled deactivation of GPS while LM is in background.

What is wrong with this strategy?
