quick switch for screen orientation

Hi,
if I want to switch the screen orientation manually I've to go awkwardly through the settings menu. Is there some quick button  (which I could attach to the right panel for example) to quickly switch between portrait and landscape no matter what the android setting is?

There's an app for that:

Put it into your right side panel and have fun.
Although in don't understand, why this is needed?
