Hi menion.

First at all thanks for this really great map app!

I think you are at the momant working on several map format supports (for example rmaps). My wish is now, is it possible to support the OSM PDF vector map format (//http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/PBF_Format)? I found some informations on the web an there is also a Java and C PBF libary available (//https://github.com/scrosby/OSM-binary) so it should be possible to add the format to Locus.
The code ist under GNU LGPL is this a problem?
A big advantag beside the vector format is that a lot of maps are available in the web...

So maybe you can think about it to support that format!

Thanks,
spukis

Hi spukis,
on this is quite simple answer. PBF files are already supported. Firstly, LGPL license is a problem. I cannot use anything with this license. Secondly, Locus already support vector maps generated by tool from MapsForge library. This tool use osmosis as a main stream for data. So everything that osmosis can load, can be exported to MapsForge format. Description is here http://code.google.com/p/mapsforge/wiki ... terOsmosis

just for your info. I'm generating from planet file whole world as separate counties. Side step is generating of PBF files and then MapsForge format ...

I meant a direct support of the Locus app without converting the map first. But if the license is a problem... there is no chance!  :(
