Icons that appear in android gallery

I have a minor little tip for coming updates. All the tiny icons in Locus do appear in gallery, and an easy way to avoid this is to create a simple file which contains absolutely nothing. This file has to be called .nomedia and put in the folders that contains icons and/or pictures.

For those who would like to do this themselves, just search your phone for this file and copy-paste with your favorite explorer into the folders that appear in Locus. Your phone is littered with this file in other apps and games.

yes nice tip. I already hear about it from someone ...

so Locus now add automatically this files into

locus/cache/customScreen
locus/cache/images
locus/data/nav_audio
locus/icons

directories ;)

Would you be so nice and put this file also in "locus/mapsOnline/custom"?

I think if you just put the file in the locus directory, it applies to all subdirectories too.

really? I don't think so. Didn't tested but should be weird system by my opinion ... and also, I don't want to exclude directories that store photos taken by camera called from locus ...

Yes.

I did though  ;)

I think that depends on how you look at it. I have another mapping app (Aura) that has a voices directory with 37 subdirectories for different languages. It's much easier to have one .nomedia file than 37, one for each Subdirectory. In fact, the .nomedia file is one level higher than the voices directory, and also deals with all the icons and avatars in other directories.

That's a good point.

fine, thanks :) very good to know. Anyway because there is not much subdirectories with images, I think that current system is fine for locus, so I put into four or fine directories, this .nomedia file, to keep some other directories with photo images, to appear in media gallery

I see now in gallery these pictures from Locus 4 in directory /locus/cache/map/vector/svg

Is there something wrong ?

Hello, interesting. As I see, the app should (and on my device it really happens) create a special ".nomedia" file in this directory so such files should not be added to the gallery. Does this file exists in this directory? If no, simply create it manually.

Missing? Interesting. I'm checking it again and do not see the reason why this should happen. Anyway fine, I hope this solves the gallery issue.
