Is there a linux desktop program that can use Locus themes and openandromaps maps?    I'd like to use the same map and theme on my desktop to do some development on a theme.  I found cruiser, but it doesn't work with some locus themes.   The developer said: "Locus seems to use a modified Mapsforge and not being much compatible with the rest community."

MF v3 maps have a special Locus edition,
but what about MF v4 maps and themes ?

I'm using V4 maps and themes

Has the developer spoken explicitly about the v4 data, or has he implied the older, but valid info about the v3 Locus edition (LE).

He did not explicitly say that about V4.  Are you implying that V4 is standard mapsforge, not a fork?

What it failed on is line curve  = cubic.

Locus doesn't support line curve="cubic" in MF4. Locus MF4 themes ought to be fully supported in other MF4 apps as far as I know, with one proviso. Locus supports MF5 scaling of dotted or dashed lines. Any themes that make use of that will not work on MF4 apps.

Thanks.  I see my mistake, I was inadvertently using a V3 theme.  The V4 theme does not use cubic, & loads in cruiser.

Just to note, my Voluntary theme for Locus makes use of the MF5 scaling in Locus. A generic MF4 version of the theme which works with other apps is also available in this forum or via OAM.
Also to note, any MF4 themes from elsewhere ought to work on MF4+ maps in Locus.

@papab
I installed this Cruiser Windows application but it seems I'm too stupid to use it.
From the Cruiser Android application I know menu items "Open maps" and "Open map style" where I can navigate to my V4 vector maps and according themes.
In the windows application I don't find those menu items.
How to open a map and a map style in the windows application?

tommi,
I'm on linux, and in the top left of the window is a 'Map' button, which opens a pulldown menu with options for 'open maps' and 'open style'

Thank you for your swift response.
Does the window look under Linux like this one under Windows (actually it should because Java applications are ideally platform agnostic?

 >:( there are two options to download a windows application:
- http://www.cruiser.gr/downloads/CruiserSetup.exe (this one installs the application from the previous screenshot)
- http://www.talent.gr/public/cruiser/cruiser-desktop-1.7.zip (this one contains the java application shown in the screenshot of this post)

Mine looks like the 2nd screen shot that you posted
"Cruiser which looks like under Android Screenshot.png"

There is a cruiser forum that the developer is active on:

I strongly suspect that option #1 (cruiser.gr) is a totally different application and works differently.
