Yesterday I tried the first time for a 2 hours drive the Locus navigation.
It worked very good, but I noticed that there is no Icon in the tray, when I minimize the navigation (pressing Home-Button etc.).
It still talks but after a while it was shot by the OS, which is clear.

So I wonder why there is no Icon, did I miss some settings? I didn't find any about this.
There is an icon for the tracking though.

franc on SGS2 with OS 2.3.5 (root).

Thank you.

this is because whole navigation in Locus do not run as a service. That's also why to some people, when some call come, system destroy Locus on background without notice. It's more bug then some request for feature and I know about it. Anyway navigation system in Locus is used more then I firstly expected so I plan to work on it more, not just creating navigation as a service (mainly some better support for TTS, more simple handling, etc...)

This would be great!
I used before Google Navigation, which is OK, but Locus Navigation is not bad either, and is even better! More information, more flexible, more functions etc.

Do it!

Something new about it?

At the Moment I was using the phone and Locus to navigate but after a short while of using other things the navigation is killed :(
I have to use Google navigation like this, but would much like to use Locus :(

Did you try Settings->Global->Locus as a service?

Sorry, didn't know about this, I will try it.

EDIT: Thank you. It works! Equally I can keep GPS running with this setting, preventing from the need to search the GPS-Fix each time again.
