When I'm using "allow to dim a screen" option, I would like to have a possibility to set level of dim. Is there possibility to create such option?

Hi,

I don't think that this option already exists. Maybe you want to try an external app called "Screen Filter":
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.haxor

I use it most times and it works great if you call this app directly from the right panel in Locus!

Cheers, berkley

I also use screen filter for geocaching at night. It's great to dim the screen via widget.

Thanks, I know this application. I wanted more dim my screen to save battery, but i suppose this application using some kind of software solution rather actually dim a leds backlight of screen.
I was forced not to off(lock) my screen, because of some kind of bug with bluetooth communication (phone vs bluetooth gps module). This bug causes a communication freezes. That is why I've used a screen dim.
Now I found application which is resistant of this bug.
Thanks for trying to solve my problem

Robin, I definitely can confirm that Screen Filter saves battery depending on the configured brightness %-value. I use this quite often to listen music from the browser at a very low dimmed screen.

Just out of curiosity, which application is resistant regarding the BT comm bug?

and I think, that it depend on display! here for example http://blog.stevemould.com/phone-batter ... wallpaper/ post about Amoled displays. Cannot find any other post I read some time ago where was some comparation of display types ... damn

Very nice article - and you're right, it depends on the display type. Amoled saves battery if dimmed, TFT (I guess this is the display type of Samsung Spica) might not save anything.

It makes sense.

The application is called bluegps4droid //http://sourceforge.net/p/bluegps4droid/home/Home/.
The funniest thing is, after using this application some of time I can use any other tb gps application without problems. Until next phone reboot .
