Maps / Re: [MAPS] - Vector maps

is there a way to have more than one vector map selected? It would be great to be possible because then you could install e.g. germany, netherlands, belgien, etc. And if you are travelling across the borders you could just enable the countries you need. If you stay inside a country, you could deselect all unneeded countries. The problem is that e.g. whole europe is to big to be converted.

Best regards,

Please got ahead. I'll cut it if the traffic becomes too much.

Do you have white spaces, too?

If this map works better, maybe berkley can upload it to multiload and replace the links in post #2?

Quote from: "laufzeitfehler"Don't know if it's the museum - I only see some white spaces ;-)
I just tested what jusc reported. I openend Locus and searched for "Köln", and saw the white spaces that jusc reported.
Then I took my screenshots with the advanced map viewer (same behaviour as Locus)... (zoomlevel 10/11 were buggy, all others worked for me as well)

Of cource, you can upload the germany map, then we will test it.
Maybe the guys from mapsforge comment on the bug reports from jusc and me in the meantime.

here you can download my generated

Please test if you can see Cologne there (even if they brew horrible beer  :D there)

What might help to track down the issue is to use the mapsforge own viewer for their files. You can download it there or I can upload the apk here. Then this should be compared to the OSM data. If the viewer also displays white areas where OSM has data then it's the converter or the library.

Dear jones12ax7,

Maybe you should ask These questions to the mapsforge people as locus uses their library Form displaying vector maps

I'll give it a try on our next trip! Thanks for the explanation. I will report.

Yes you are right, I like to store a correct name like "Station 2". So the only way at the moment would be to create for each multicache a seperate category and store the waypoints into this category along the way. At the end I export the track and the POIs seperately and then maybe merge these two?

Dear Menion,

OK, then I might probably did something wrong here. I added the "+" Button on the right side panel and always use this one to add points. So there is a difference between this button the one in the record track panel? On our next trip I try the other button then.

I'm really looking forward to see the new addon! We are going to have the next big multicache on sunday, so Locus will be with us!

I would also love to export recorded tracks along with the waypoints entered during this recording. Couldn't you just reference the track on the waypoints when a track is recording? I would do this in the table with an optional field which can then be searched when the track is exportet.

Usage: I love geocaching with multicaches and I generate a GPX and a picture of the track for the family afterwards and I want to show the stations there. For now I add the waypoints after exporting using a GPX editor like prune manually.

Hi Robert,

as these should be vector maps, they should be independet of the zoomlevel. Are you sure that there is a zoomlevel restriction? How big is the file?

I took the germany.osm from geofabrik and converted it myself to mapsforge format. The file is arround 1GB in size and seems to contain all information.
Does anyone knows where to get this version? At least in the market there are still ony 1.9.4 to download (pro and free).

You need a tool called "osmosis" and the mapwriter-plugin from mapsforge: ... terOsmosis

This is working for me, except that I couldn't manage to convert the complete europe file...
