That's clear and sounds logical. I though you ment that the fav points are better than a rating.

Quote from: "menion"thanks guys. I'll look on GC vote later but I'm not sure if this is good improvement. Official "fav points" should be better I think ...
Menion, maybey this thread is not the place for this discussion, but I'm curious why you think Fav. points are better?

In my opinion GCVote give better info about the cache quality. I would like to point to the new android market, where you should see fav. points and Google +1 and GC Vote as the rating system.
What does it tell you that Locus had 10.000+ downloads and 100 people gave it a +1? Something like 1% of the users likes the product? ;)
Compare this info to the info that 1.845 PEOPLE rated Locus Pro and the average rating is 5 STARS. :D
I would know on which rating i would decide to buy the app.....

This really looks great. And makes selecting a good cache easier. I'm looking forward to the new release.
Is it also possible to filter on the attributes?

To bad the favo points are not yet available in the gc.com GPX files. :(

But it gave me another idea for selecting a good quality cache:
Is it possible to connect to the //http://GCvote.com database and get the average rating (mean or median) and number of votes in the overview. e.g. 3.6/21 which means average 3.6 (I think median is better here) with 21 votes. :?:

I'm using a macro in GSAK to add this data to GPX UserData fields. Data is grabbed very quickly (50 in 1 or 2 seconds) and it's very usefull selecting nice caches, because in stead of only the average you can also see the number of votes and leave out the extreme ratings (low/high) by using median average.

Another great addition to the GC tools. I hope to use it soon. Thanks. :)

As a geocaching tool I would like to have a tool to create a new point as midpoint between two points. This is especially handy when visualizing a triangle midpoint using the draw line tool. Midpoint of a triangle is an often used feature with geocaching.
At the moment I have to use other tools to calculate, then write the coords on paper and afterwards enter them in Locus.

Is it possible to create an update function to update existing geocaching in Locus. (logs, description, hint)

To me it looks smoother and faster. It's best to try yourself. It automatically finds the offline vector maps from Locus.

The c:geo guys have implemented offline OSM vector maps also lately. The map build-up seems to be a lot smoother than the one in Locus. They use the mapsforge 0.2.4 lib. Is this the same one as Locus or is Locus still using the 0.2.3 lib?

Menion,

Although the navigation feature works, I still found some issues (using vectormaps):
1. The green line is really invisible when driving.
2. Sometimes the line is not visible at all and you have to switch off navigation to be able to see where to go.
3. After navigating for about 30-60 min. the app closes with error.errors-1313584632836.err.zip[/attachment:1tvho6mb]

PS. Could you allow the uploading of .err files on the forum? :)

Navigation worked fine with me today. Great job. It even snapped to the route when driving back to startingpoint.
Would be nice if the map would Zoom in when almost at the point of arrival, when this can be shown on map with lower zoom level.
#87
It also happend with the previous version. It's only when zooming out and lots of times when using offline vector maps. Had several crashes again today.

I'm having a lot of crashes when using pinch zoom on vector maps. Especially when having routing and rotating maps enabled.
It seems like mapforge is rebuilding the screen while zooming and it is just getting overloaded. Also when not using routing and rotating maps I have these issues, but a lot less.
I'm not the expert here, but could this be solved by waiting with map rebuilding for some milliseconds after zooming has been finished? Because when zooming slowly no crashes occur.
Especially during driving this is a bit annoying, because I have to restart Locus again and it goes back to enabled wp's and routes of the last proper closure off the app and I have to enable all newly activated wp's and routes again.
Anyway here's my log:crash-1312691220511.err.zip[/attachment:3q04a8xq]

Hey Menion,
Sorry, I didn't see there was already a beta with some functions available in the forum. I will have a look at it.
I was a bit distracted from the forum, because of those yellow/black insects flying around. :x .......irritating stingy beasts.... AAAUUUCH!!!!
Do you always have that many wasps in CZ? ;)

I agree with all things svartbjorn says. I noticed the needs for these functions during our Czech round trip and we are leaving the day after tomorrow. Would be great to test it. I have all the trips cloudmade routes ready on my device.

P.S. I also see some translations for dynamic zooming and midpoint 1/4 screen. Are these included in the beta also? I would really like this, because it will give me an extra zoom level during driving.
