Various & Bin / 3D view
October 11, 2011, 20:02:49
I just looked at oruxmaps and saw a 3d map view in there.
Since Locus lately had a lot of improvements for navigation this could also be a fancy option to choose, since this is quite popular with navigation apps.

Declined / Re: addon button to right side panel

Isn't geocaching4locus best opened by a long click on the map and then clicking the third party apps button?

I think I am a step further. I looks like above only occurs when the screen doesn't return to full screen. This is a bug I noticed before, but didn't give any attention to, because clicking a POI restores full screen mode.
I will try to reproduce the full screen bug and then test the POI clicking and see if it has an offset.

Menion, I tested some more and found following:
When in off-centre map rotating mode and long clicking somewhere, the address show is not the point I clicked. Also when adding this point to POI db, it shows up in a different location.
Example:
If tried clicking Prag city center on mapquest map zoom level 9 and autorotation point about west on top. The result of the address and the position of the POI after adding was somewhere near Cicovice???????

Today I did a geocache with the map midpoint off-centre. I noticed that selecting a cache or its appoints is not possible. I could click them, but no menu came up. As soon as I switched back to normal center, selecting was.possible again.
If tested a few times and although selecting sometimes works with off-centre maps most of the time it doesn't.

The more points, the more extra distance?????
#67
I created a route in a previous version with 25 appoints and a distance of 25.6km for bicycle.
If I calculate the route with the new mapquest the route is 62.6km over the same roads.
It also looks like the route doesn't stop at a point, but continues for several hundred meters.

I noticed that selecting poi's on the screen is a lot harder when map center is shifted. After changing back to normal center, selecting is smooth again.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Personal WP from cgeo

That would be even better. No more separate importing into two great apps with both there own strengths.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Personal WP from cgeo

Would be great to have, but I think it's the way c:geo sends the WP. For pre-loaded points, the name is shown, but this is a different name the shown in the name field you can fill when editing points. For example GC1QJTD had named 'Straat' in the edit screen, but shows up as WP01 in Locus. And 'Straat' as description.
I think the Name field is in place of the note field in c:geo and the note/description field is missing.

I think it's best to first check c:geo.

Hopefully the new source has the correct map. I'll test it as soon as its there.

Hi Menion,

This issue already was there in the previous map version and still exists in the updated 2011-09-03 Netherlands release.

I also miss a lot of detail from N52 28.xxx, E006 37.xxx to N53 19.xxx, E007 01.xxx compared to the surroundings on zoom levels (10) and (11).
The part mentioned in above reply is N51 37.xxx, E004 13.xxx to N52 28.xxx, E005 37.xxx and here zoom levels (1) to (11) are completely missing.

Could you please check what's wrong, regenerate the map and make it available trough download add-on?

Regards,

Dibrial

Troubles & Questions / Re: Tracks
September 08, 2011, 08:13:41
Can't this also be done by clicking export tracks?
If not, maybe it's a good idea to create a backup function for the track and POI databases.

Last week I updated my Desire to 2.3. I thought it was because of the new version. Sorry

I see some great new thinks in the new version and will test them in the next days.
My compliments to the display of the imported geocaches in the POI list. It looks even better than in your example. With trackables....great....
One small issue that I found is that when opening one single (reimported)  cache from the map screen, the size icon is missing and shows a questionmark.
