Hi Menion,

I just read about the progress in this field and I am very much looking forward for it. Direct upload of the fieldnotes to gc.com and the download of pocket querries will be extremely useful und quite cute :)

Troubles & Questions / Gc Fieldnote "send" issue
October 11, 2011, 10:49:07
Hi again,

first thanks for the comment in the other thread I accidentally closed it and cannot coment anymore. Now I've got a new strange behavior with it. When finishing the note a new dialog pops up telling, who to proceed with the File, where it is stored and so on. Answers are "yes, send" and "abort". Either way note goes to file. But if choosing the first Locus also tries to connect to some server which fails.

didn't Chance any settings and did bot find a setting to switch that off. What about that?

Best regards

Hi there,

this is really an issue. Been arround LA and it's really a pain not to read major street names in lower levels of magnification. Hope there will be a solution sometime.

Troubles & Questions / Fieldnote upload issue
October 09, 2011, 06:42:28
Hi Menion,

I just found some strange behaviour with the Geocaching Fieldnote File. I used a doublequote (") sign in the textmessage of the fieldnote. This however brakes the upload to Geocaching.com without any hint from there... Maybe it would be good not to allow for the input of those characters or parse the string before saving.

Maps / Re: [MAPS] - Vector maps
August 13, 2011, 18:44:44
Quote from: "jones12ax7"My dream is to place that wonderful maps on Locus, so I don't have to carry another gadget on trail. I converted the .img file to .osm, so I can use it on Locus. By the way, TrackMaker doesn't export to .osm directly. I had to do the following workaround:
Original Garmin .img -> Exported as .dbx with Mapdekode -> Exported as .gtm with TrackMaker -> Converted to .osm with GPSBabel -> Converted to .map with Osmosis Mapwriter plugin

I could not get that work. Mapdekode doesnt work on my garmin .img or on another .img made from .osm either. Any other trys going with gpsmapedit to .mp, with ptxt2shp to .shp and somehow to .osm dont work either. I'm stuck.

Maps / Re: [MAPS] - Vector maps

Hi everybody,

I was just to embark on a mission to convert my Garmin topo map for use with locus when I found this thread. So there have been quite an impressive improvement on vectormaps, thanks to all contributors, especially menion and berkley.

Now I have to get another phone however since change in zoomlevels look more like on my old Garmin Handheld GPSr ;-)

Found your new solution in the program, seems quite convienant to me. Let's see how it works out in time.

Until now i did not use spoilersync, but i am well aware of many situations where they would be more than very helpful ;)
So i would agree to the proposed solution with another tab and external spoilersync. Then however we need to "convince" the spoilersync coders to provide an Android App ;)

Implemented / Re: geocaching.com API
June 18, 2011, 18:56:08
This is good news. Now that I finally bought Locus groundspeak offers an API and Locus might get a nice add-on. Great!

Keep up the good work, menion.

Declined / Re: Desktop Version of Locus

I guess that is not exactly what he is looking for, but maybe a start. I however do not consider a pc version a major goal for locus.

Hi menion,

sorry I messed up this one too. Fieldnotes are just working fine. I just used the wrong button (notes) all day long. Sorry for having bothered you. Thanks for fixing the other issue.

Various & Bin / Re: Zoom Level

Hi Menion,

yes that's exactly the thing. I just meant, that I didn't know that this button was working this way (just assumed it would do something else) You could just say RTFM to me in this particular case ;)

Thanks and best regards
