As LoMaps are the only way to get get offline adress search, they do have major effect for buying them. Users do have no other choice - as uncomfortable the way they offer may be.

Doch doch: Bei den Spracheinstellungen gibt es neben der Auswahl verschiedener TTS-Module auch eine Sprachauswahl.

Mich interessieren hauptsächlich Wanderkarten aus Portugal und Spanien, da finde ich die Karten von Locus doch detaillierter.

Da die OSM-Kartenbasis bei Locus und freien Garmin-Karten gleich ist, liegt es an den Locus-Themes, wenn diese Karten detailreichreicher rüberkommen. Es wird wohl mehr rausgeholt.

Aber auch meine Erfahrung vielen Garmin-Jahren ist: So gut wie unter Locus mit den verfügbaren Themes wird das nicht.

Ganz im Ernst: Locus ist derart umfangreich und komplex, dass zumindest ich bevor ich eine neue Funktionalität ausprobiere, die FAQ studiere. "Spielerisches Entdecken" führt halt bei Locus nicht immer zum Erfolg.
Deine Mitteilungsbox ist zwar ne nette Idee - aber willst Du wirklich an allen Ecken und Enden in Locus Nag-Screens haben?

Aber eines von den 3 direkt zu benutzen scheint mir fatal, denn dann werden deren Einstellungen übernommen und man kommt nicht mehr easy-peasy zu seinen aktuellen Einstellungen zurück.

Genau darauf wird ja auch in der FAQ hingewiesen...

Gibt es noch andere Lösungen?

Ja: Laden über externe Ladepins, sog. Pogo-Pins. Diverse Xperia Z-Modelle als auch meine Wahl, das Kyocera Duraforce Pro verfügen über diese Möglichkeit. Die Xperias sind wasser- und staubdicht, das Kyocera ist beides und zudem "rugged".
Die externe Lademöglichkeit wurde ursprünglich für den KFZ-Betrieb konzipiert und so gibt es auch (für die Xerias) fertige Halterungen von Brodit.
Das Kyocera gibt es nur in USA (gebraucht auf ebay.com ab 50 USD aufwärts). Halterung und Stromanschluss muß man hier selbst basteln. Mehr Infos gibt es auf meiner Homepage: http://decker4u.de/ausruestung/gps/
Das Kyocera verwende ich sowohl auf dem Motorrad als auch auf dem Fahrrad.

Will Locus Basic have ads as former free version?

I can´t get GH to work. I have installed AddonGraphHopper_16_0.7_release.apk and GH data via Locus action button. When I start the Addon, it just shows me the content of the data directory (here: germany.osm). I can click on it, but I can´t select it in any way.

In Locus I can select GH as offline service, but there are no routing profiles offered to me (if I click on the little symbol with the three lines on the right site) as in GH online or BRouter.
These routing profiles are missing in the route planner, too.

If I select a crossing on the map and use it at navigation destination from the flyout, I get the error popup: Graphhopper cannot load notes.

I don´t know if it´s important, but I store all my maps on external SD. GH data are correctly copied to the external directory defined in settings.

Any hint please what to do?

Why not use Locus?

You can use an android emulator like Memu or boot into Phoenix OS. Both come with Playstore.
I switched from Memu to Phoenix, because native Android under X86 is much faster than emulated.

You can install Phoenix like just another Windows app, no hassle with partitions as with Linux.

john_percy: Thanks for this! Disabling all 3 tracks related items in road style gives a nice clean look. This one does the job! Will you implement this in official version?

Coming from Osmand+ the first issue for me is to find a theme for onroad motorcycling only. Reasons for switching to locus: I would like to have the database structure and the poi handling with personalized icons. Also strict mode is a thing I would like when navigating a track.

Locus themes I have testet show me to much details - even when getting in overview. Let me show you what I mean.

First: Osmand showing 2km scale in the Eifel, Germany. Preferred motorcycling area with lots of small winding roads. Osmand shows them all - and does not display all the forest and resident roads, that are closed for public.


Second: Locus with road theme and lomaps. I have to go to level 3 km, but have smaller overview. Notice the secondary roads in the small villages - they are of complete desinterest. Zooming in gives more roads mentioned above which are closed to public.


Third: Locus with Voluntary UK theme. Same thing with need to go to 3 km scale but having less overview (left). Going to 2 km scale Voluntary UK theme gets useless, showing almost closed roads:


Is there any theme or possibility to modify an existing theme to show only roads that a suitable for motorized traffic? I really don´t need roads to be shown that I am not allowed to ride. And showing this roads makes the overview just confusing.
