PiP > thanks all for the feedback. I did a few improvements over the weekend so in the next Beta, it will be a lot better!

@lor74cas
What exactly is the problem with the WMS map in this post? When I play with it, all seems to work correctly.

Recorded speed > this is an old problem with detection of the "not moving" behavior. You are correct that the app currently simply records a speed value received from the GNSS unit. What should be done is to, based on the device sensors (or by attached speed sensor), register movement and based on this modify speed values. The task to do.

@joeloc
Disappearing points: this sounds like a serious issue. There were no changes in the database system for a very long time. Hmm, sorry, no idea.

Restoring recording after crash: Do you mean the small "rec" button on the left above the menu & map content buttons? Interesting, I'm trying to simulate it and it is always correctly restored to the red button with small green <> white animation in the inner circle.

@luce
PiP is available only since Android 8+, sorry I forget to mention this.

WMS > which layers you have enabled? All I've tried looks ok, thanks.

@CabrioTourer
thanks for the description. You are right, current behavior is really weird. I'll look at it.

@slarti76
I did some benchmarks and spend some time on it.
Result: agree that difference is significant. Even that detailed shading is around 60% slower, I've moved limit from the zoom level 12 to 15! You will see in the next app version.

...So I promised a long time ago some kind of customization here > and this is ideal adept > allow to define order of these buttons.
nice idea!

@CabrioTourer
I know I know. Andrew already reported this a few days ago here and I'm still unable to correctly simulate it. But I'll look at it more precisely at Monday, promise  :)

@luce
Alternative turn-off method > hmm I did no changes here. Interesting ...

"Hide" button. Agree with @freischneider, there is no space for another button. Anyway to explain: the app simply creates a list of buttons that should be placed at the bottom and only a certain number is visible, the rest is in the "three-dot" menu. So I promised a long time ago some kind of customization here > and this is ideal adept > allow to define order of these buttons.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.6.+ ( 02/2022 )
February 05, 2022, 22:18:38
@tapio
what you see is intent. I do this on more places in the app > next row is visible from the half to indicate, there is more content that may be scrolled.

@CabrioTourer
@freischneider, well, why not to ask here in more friendly and less official places right? ;). And answer is simple: the app is not limited by any device resolutions etc, so it should work. How much usable it will be? Hard to say. I was not creating any optimizations for foldable devices yet, so keep this in mind.

I found it as the second topic of the maps section in expert settings.
You can also go into settings top page and then search for "dual".

@tramp20
1. have no idea. Does this happen everytime you start the app or just after the update?
2. interesting problem. No support for Tasker or similar app exists currently.
What I suggest: set automatic backup to once a day and let it be. The app may really start backup in defined time +- few hours! App also needs a valid wi-fi connection. I plan to change the logic behind to one more reliable system, but it will need some time.

@CabrioTourer
Free version does not support "Folders". They are anyway stored in the database, so data are not lost.

@tramp20
what you mean by "favorites"?

These were quite long two months. It is probably for the first time, I publish a version after such a long time since the previous release. Last two days I spend by fixing various problems we found and just now, the new version was published on Google Play.

We have an option to publish version only for certain part of users (probably random selection). So today, it will be only for 10% of users. If there won't be any unsolvable problem, I'll enable version for all users tomorrow. Thanks for understaning.

And mainly thanks for the help. Update of map system was a big task for me and I'm really glad, version with this change is out. Now we can fine-tune it :).

Yes, I'm seriously thinking about it and I already have a solution in the head.

@CabrioTourer
thanks for dashboard file. It helped and issue found & fixed

Well, navigation in the app is somewhere ... in the middle. It works well in the case, you ride based on instructions correctly along the road. But once something happens, like a shortcut, change in directions, pause in GPS signal ... bad things sometimes happen.

I currently have priority in finishing updates in improved map system, anyway the number of complaints on navigation is growing so rather start now and improve it till the main season starts :).

@jajaballard
ah damn, thanks, fixed!

Two fingers on map; drag down.
Two fingers on map; drag up to restore to flat map view.
