Quote from: 40° on Today at 20:45:12Note the change in the behavior of the messages in the notification bar. Now the track recording message does not disappear even after the Locus is closed. Everything was still fine in the release. In 4.30.1.5_1187_beta has already been broken.
I noticed the same today. Also if I just stop and save the recording, the notification stays.

Hello,

I noticed an odd bug regarding navigation:

When I select navigate to, this screen opens You cannot view this attachment.

I select "my points", so I get the choice: You cannot view this attachment.

So, when I select one of these, I end up here: You cannot view this attachment.

But here, there is no "select" option, to use the point as destination. More so, if I click on the navigate button on the bottom, I get another navigation dialogue on top of the first one.You cannot view this attachment.

I think there is a Select option missing, when I get to the point list this way.

Maybe you do not see categories because you do not have downloaded offline LoMap? Currently, categories are visible only if you have (any) offline LoMap downloaded. I'm waiting for some feature to be done on the server.

This is from the offline map. And the bookstore nearby shows a category

Quote from: freischneider on July 11, 2025, 22:21:33The POIs usually come from LoPoi or OAM. If no category is displayed, I assume it's an OSM POI.

I do not have any OAM Maps installed. And it is also findable in web.locusmap.app

  - add: LoPoints categories visible in the detail

@menion, Thanks for that. Oddly enough it does not solve my original problem - where the POIs denoting the hungarian "Dohanybolt" come from and which category they belong to.

There is a POI shown on the Map (in the center of Köszeg):
You cannot view this attachment.

However - if i click on the POI, it opens, displays the "Shopping" Icon - but no category and no further information regarding the Source....
You cannot view this attachment.

The actual source is appearently OSM https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/12250584531, which gives the following properties:
You cannot view this attachment.

As said, my goal was to display all the Dohanybolt in Hungary - since they usually sell Drinks and Snaks, which is helpful during bicycle-tours.

Quote from: slarti76 on July 11, 2025, 07:40:37Anybody recently had problems with tracks not syncing?
I never experienced any bugs since sync became production-ready. Also the change in the database went flawlessly. But now I had a clear case where there were two tracks on one device that just wouldn't appear on another, no matter how often I pressed Sync. I could solve it by slightly editing the description of those two tracks, then they were synced.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to document this, as I was on the road. I can only say that the tracks were split tracks: I split the original track (deleting the original), then I split the second part of that again (also deleting the "original"), and the two results of the last split failed to sync. Dunno if that's related...

I also have sometimes issues, that automatic sync does not happen. What always helps is triggering a manual sync (from the settings). However I also had no time yet to document that in detail.

Hi,

Regarding POIs and Search Results, I have an observation/suggestion: When searching for something, the search result does not show the Data-Source (see screenshot).

What I wanted in hungary was to highligt *all* the "Dohanybolt" (because they usually also sell drinks). Using the Search option for one specific was no problem. But I did not find a way to show all of them on the map (like supermarkets, which I know the category for)

But it would be helpful to know:
  • Where does the result come from - LoPoints, Wiki, whatever
  • If it is a LoPoint, in what categories do I find these - in order to highlight them on the map. For now the symbol of the POI gives a hint, but not really more.

It would be sufficent to have a "Source: " and "POI Categories: " field when clicking on the POI or Search result.

Quote from: Tapio on June 14, 2025, 08:22:01Am I the only one where the "remove all notifications" button does only close the window, but keep all notifications? Removing 20 of them via swiping is a bit tiring.
Nope, same here.

Quote from: Ulrich Kiermayr on June 13, 2025, 19:39:31For the "nearest Point" feature: One additional Filter would be very handy, to list only Highlighted POIs. Usually those are the ones I am looking for - and so the list does not get cluttered by all the other categories. (See attachment)

If they're highlighted, you can see them clearly on the map, which should be enough. This way you can see what's around your location.

This is not in all cases true - because in some zoom levels they are grouped or hidden behind eachother. Having a list of the nearest circumvents the issues of sometimes hidden POIs.

Hi,

Regarding the new map update screen where you can check multiple maps for bulk update:

A "Select all" button would be really nice (so I do not have to check 10+ checkboxes manually)

Quote from: freischneider on June 06, 2025, 18:31:36I think highlighted low points from level 10 are great. But it's not 100% reliable. Some low points only appear from level 12. I used to know when there were no more low points so it was because of the zoom. Now some are displayed but I never know if they are all there.

I agree with that. I also have the issue that I do not see all the points - partially due to grouping in lower zoom levels. And since grouping groups POIs of different types together, I sometimes miss relevant POIs.

Im my case - for cycling - I want to highlight Toilets, water and supermarkets (input and output during the tour). In the screenshots you see, that I miss 2 supermarkets in lower zoom, because they are hidden behind a toilet.

I'm like to have an option to disable grouping all together (in custom zoom levels ideally).

A remark on that: during our vacation (cycling) the ETA often was not really usable. Reason: the topography of the route has a huge influence on the speed you are able to ride. Consider a tour where you go uphill the first half and downhill on the second. Just considering the current average speed, would result in unusable results, because it would estimate going up the whole tour. But this is wrong, since the second half will be faster because it is downhill.
I think the ETA algorithm (for cycling and probably also for hiking) should work somewhat like the algorithm to estimate the time for a track. The current avg speed could\should be used to set the parameters for that estimate (like piking the best profile in the trip time estimate).
