Troubles & Questions / Re: No NMEA data
July 25, 2011, 20:25:33
I just checked and found an app:
GPS Nmea Monitor
"This app displays raw NMEA data coming from the GPS chip. Can be used to check the GPS on your phone.
Please do not give bad ratings if the app does not display any NMEA, The NMEA API does not work on some phones."

I'll shut up about this, I can live without it.

My ROM is directly off-the-shelf.
I just wonder where Locus gets the satellite data for the GPS-screen? Is there some other possibility than NMEA GSV-sentence?

Thanks for the response! But unfortunately it didn't help. The folder was exactly as you told. Anyhow, I deleted it and Locus created it back. But no data items :(

Hi Menion

I allready suggested an automatic way to distribute mapserver load. If there are several servers, would it be possible to add a filed, that specifies them and then use them in rotation.

For example,I would like to be able to specify:
 map{01,02,03,04}.eniro.no/geowebcache/service/tms1.0.0/map/{z}/{x}/{y}.png

I'm not sure if this works with Eniro, but I bet the providers would appreciate it.

Troubles & Questions / No NMEA data
July 23, 2011, 10:12:29
None of the NMEA settings "always" or "when recording on" produces any NMEA data to the SD card data/NMEA directory.
(Locus 1.9.4, Android 2.2, ZTE Blade)

I would have liked to check the effects of an external GPS antenna. If the NMEA data would work for me, would there be a sentence that provides the satellites signal strength (GSV)?

Otherwise this function is not important for me.

Simply yes.

I open geocaching tools, "draw circle", coordinates default to map center and radius is 160m. Color is reddish, so it should show on green background.
I do not change the defaults, simply hit OK. Nothing is shown in map center or in GPS position.

But when I tap the "remove temp items", it asks "do you really want to remove 1 item?"

I think the above should work, but I have also tried changing coordinates, radius and color, but same invisible result :(
Yesterday in one session (of Locus) everything worked, but after that never.

Android 2.2, ZTE Blade, Locus 1.9.4. No errors or crashes in logs.

I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong. Sometimes the circle appear on the map, mostly not :(
When there is nothing visible on the map, the "remove temp map items" tool still asks if I want to remove all items. There seems to be 2 items per a circle (center and the circle)

I once thought that the "speed rings" enable/disable had something to do with the geocaching tools, but now it has no effect.

So what am I doing wrong? How to enable the display of temp map items?

I have the latest free 1.9.4 version

Declined / Re: link to wap.geocaching.com

In my (limited) experience, it is only possible with a guid, like
http://wap.geocaching.com/default.aspx? ... 0299205bd7
The guid can be gotten from www.goecaching.com, but then it spoils the idea :)

Hi Menion
I have similar experiences about Eniro, it loads a few tiles and then nothing.

Is it possible to define custom maps so that there are several server ip-addresses?
I think eniro has at least 4 servers map01.eniro.com, map02.eniro.com, map03.eniro.com, map04.eniro.com.
I have seen similar parallel servers on many sites (Google for example)

After release 1.9 the draw circle seems to work more consistently.
I have a minor suggestion: When I want to draw a circle from "any point", I have to use the "Edit" button to make the changes to the coordinates. If I just edit (click on) the coordinate fields and change their contents, my changes do not stick on the resulting circle.
This is not a user friendly way; next time I need the circles, I'll probably make the same mistake again:(

Add-ons & Co-apps / Re: Addon - Geocaching

Nope!

Thanx for the info! I'll try it soon.
Tried it already, much better :) except for the unsolved mystery caches

Add-ons & Co-apps / Re: Addon - Geocaching

Quote from: "ruderik"FANTASTIC addon. It took a while to find where to add in my GC login details but it works brilliantly showing only caches I haven't found or own....

Could you share the secret? I didn't find where to put my GC details. If I start the addon, it goes straightly into bussines and downloads 50 nearby caches. No way to filter out mine and/or found by me caches.

Another improvment (or lesson for me) would be the ability to filter by cache type. At least most of the mystery caches are not needed when you do ex tempore (unplanned) geocaching.

Very handy! But...
Can I ADD a waypoint? Now it seems that the projection moves the original goecache to the projected point.
Sometimes you are not sure about the projection data, so it would be nice to be able to plot several projection points around the actual cache.

Yes, I want to keep the locking with my skin.

If you implement this locking, it could be conditional on wether the skin shows the map screen.
Some dashboards do not show the map, so they could be allowed to rotate.
#225
At least I would prefer to keep the locking.
Some skins have both portrait and landscape layout, maybe they should not bee locked???

This is 99% final version of my skin to show bearing and distance to a target.[attachment=0:8632vw2h]stebu.zip[/attachment:8632vw2h]
