Other features / Re: Online search

probably been mentioned before, but every time I use online search I feel I'm battling/ pushing uphill; example search for close-by road in Web Planner - first three suggestions are on the other side of the earth; why aren't these suggestions sorted by distance to the users position?

I hope you had a nice break.

@Menion - I recall long time ago BlueStacks was an LM suggestion. I spent a long time trying to get Windows sub-system for Android working, and posted a few comments/ questions for help, but no one helped. Maybe it's easier now. Is there an up-to-date procedure for installing it?

Hi guys,
I had a small vacation so sorry for the delay.

@freischneider
I would like to keep the whole top panel visible (otherwise it will need a bigger change in the UI), but disabled auto-hiding is of course an issue, so consider it fixed!

Long-click to toggle themes > because you still need to open the side panel, I think it does not save too much time here.

@Tapio
thanks for the explanation of "your embedded waypoints use-case". Understand. Interesting is that your "refresh bug" works :). Anyway it is similar to the "Hide other tracks" feature we discussed yesterday on the help desk. I do not have a big problem with creating such advanced functionality, but I have more and more problems with finding some logical place, where this activates. We all know that app is really complicated for new users and I have to be more careful when adding additional functionality that makes it even more complicated, sorry.

Problem with theme > I've tried your theme "Tapiola" > works. Then closed Locus Map, removed the subfolder and started app again. The app throws a warning that the theme can't be selected. After manual selection, seems to work correctly. So no problem.

@Viajero Perdido
thanks for the info. I'll forward this to @voldapet

@Andrew Heard
thanks for the report regards BlueStack, but to be true, since Windows sub-system for Android work perfectly, I do not use any other emulator. I've tried BlueStack some time ago and it refused to run on my PC. Because it works as expected on all known Android devices, then ... thanks for understanding.

Refresh of points after "copy" > got it, thanks.

Hi Mips,
Michael

(*) die sind akademisch nicht einmal falsch, aber für die Nutzung der OSM-Daten ein Problem.

I'm on 4.17.2 and a gold subscriber.

I can confirm that when i toggle in the side bar, offline poi. With an offline map (your lomap as and example) the points appear and disappear as expected.
When I use an online map again your own supplied map as an example, toggling offline poi doesn't allow them to appear.

An example area with many historic mine adits and shafts.

Hello,

my 2c concerning the (cool!) new map-screen content panel:

– Map themes: The solution with the "Map themes" line appearing and hiding under the "Base map" line is good – it targets both users who like to change their map theme content via this panel and ones who don't because they do it via button panel or because they rather use LoMaps online, etc.

– Tracks & points: The solution in app version 4.17.2.2 is the best so far – the brush symbol (in contrast to the eye symbol) is intuitive.
Temporary hiding by using a long-click including the red icons appearing in the top bar is a useful feature.
Suggestions:
1.
Similar to freischneiders idea, I also would suggest using the "30/16500" numbers as feedback after the long click, but what about graying the "30" out? Greyed out icons or words are normally understood as "inactive". That would indicate that the 30 tracks are inactive at the moment but still loaded. A second long click would display the "30" in black again
2.
In German, "Auswahl aufheben" is a better translation to "Deselect all" (instead of "Markierung aufheben"). It also fits better into the pop-up ;)
Edit: CabrioTourer reported this already :)

– General:
It would make sense to make also the "Map shading" line hidable, because I think most users make this setting once and then don't change it very often. As for me, map shading is always activated, I don't change it ever.

All in all – great improvement, thank you!

Best,
Lucas

- opening of side panel has a small moment of stuck, not completely smooth
- pic expert settings - value might be strange, don't know. I better leave it like it isYou cannot view this attachment.

For me, the new solution is fine so far. The "brush" icon is clear enough.

Temporarily hidden tracks or points can always be recognised by the red icon at the top right of the map and can be shown there.

Quotehow many!!! tiny settings that use just a few users, exist.

But it is precisely these users who use the app intensively and bring it forward with their contribution ... 😉

Quote from: Menion on June 21, 2023, 21:37:49The secondary function, by the long click, is the temporary hide of all points/tracks.
@Menion the new long tap doesn't provide any visual feedback. You don't know whether anything has changed or the long tap has done anything until you return to the map. Could the long tap also return directly to the map?

OK, new update, same functionality points/tracks in map items, just no eye icon. NOOOOOOO. It feels wrong.

Den Helpdesk findet kaum ein "Newbie" und es weiß auch kein "Newbie", daß man sich dafür extra registrieren muß!
