Locus Map (4+) / Re: Web planner / portal
« on: May 21, 2021, 10:30:19 »
Hi  :)
Trying Locus and some settings on my (little...) Jelly Pro, I loosed the menu button and the lower bar...
So, no access to the settings again... How to recover?
You are here in the web planner. The best thing to do is to contact the helpdesk.

Locus Map / Re: [APP] - version 4.1.+ ( 4. 5. 2021 )
« on: May 07, 2021, 22:42:13 »
you were too fast. The app is available on Google Play usually after 1-2 hours after I upload it. Sometimes even later ...

it is not needed to use ApkPure. Usually, I upload the latest version to our Google Drive:

are you sure that your recording profile has disabled "auto-save"?

for my own surprise, I see probably both of your stucks. One clearly happened in the "Track editor" screen, the second is too generic. Anyway, in both cases, the app probably did too much work. Why this? Aren't you editing track "Around the world in 40 days"?  :)

...or calculate a round trip with all the already defined points, if possible...?
@sbouju - the service is provided online by 3rd party GrafHopper, so not within control of Locus team. It only works with zero or one defined point; not more... It needs an improved/ more helpful error message.

Add-ons / Re: Locus Map for Garmin
« on: April 19, 2021, 09:56:55 »
If I start to record an activity from the Locus Map module of my watch only (and Locus Map app not launched on the smartphone),  is it a normal behaviour to see this recording stopped when the smartphone shut down (for example if it has no more power...) ?
If there is recording activity using Garmin GPS and watch looses connection with smartphone (for example when battery dies), application will show huge red alert but continue to record on background. When leaving the app (alert), the app will provide selection whether you want to save or discart such recording.

This is of course not ideal, I hope to implement this better so the app will remain usable even when phone is not accessible, but right now, there are other priorities to take care off.

Looking at my LocusMap web (sync being done) and going in "PLANNER"/"MY LIBRARY", I can find all my tracks OK, but I have no access to my waypoints...
I had the same observation and question and Menion explained that this will come in a future release.

Even easier should be to draw a circle around your home with menu > more > geocaching tools > draw circle ;)

Hi, that is the limitation of Garmin Connect IQ platform. The map will never be as fast as on Android Wear.

Add-ons / Re: Locus Map for Garmin
« on: October 29, 2019, 09:27:27 »
I have another question: on a fenix 6 (Connect IQ compatible) but which is not "Pro" or "X" (without any Garmin original cartography), can the watch show my smartphone LoMaps current map on its screen, as can do my Sony SmartWatch 3 ?
Hi, I missed your question, sorry. Yes, now you can even with natively non-map garmin models (except the oldest one)!   :)

EDIT: But one thing to add here: Fenix 6 PRO and other Garmin music or map models can utilise more memory for the app which Locus uses for better map caching when changing the screens and ability to activate enhanced map colors mode. Nothing fancy, but just want to point out, that although both F6 and F6 PRO can render maps via Locus, F6 PRO can do it a LITTLE bit better. Sorry to complicate your decisions a little. :)

Datafields are not yet customisable but it is of course one of the feature which we want to bring in some future versions.
Thank you for the feedback! The app must supports lots of screen sizes and layout configurations, so its not easy to fine tunes fonts/pixels on all models. We will try to improve it in the future. :)

Troubles & Questions / Re: BRouter and route planner problem ?
« on: July 26, 2019, 09:48:40 »
I uninstalled and reinstalled BRouter for the latest 1.5.5 version, and used the new default location of /Android/data/btools.routingapp/files/brouter for profiles and segments. I then went into Settings / Navigation in Locus, changed navigation data source to BRouter, tapped on the three line menu at the right-hand side of the navigation data source option, tapped on the wrench icon, and activated Advanced settings. If you do that you will then find that you can tap on the "ROUTING PROFILE" dropdown arrow, and the BRouter profiles you have in /Android/data/btools.routingapp/files/brouter/profiles2 will appear in the list below the Locus profiles and can be selected.

Troubles & Questions / Re: BRouter and route planner problem ?

I think the trigger for this series of issues is a choice BRouter DEV made: it enforces a new selection of storage path for the BRouter storage. I saw 3 or 4 options when upgrading to 1.5.x
You make the wrong choce, you are doomed - and to manually repair.

Troubles & Questions / Re: FIT file with course points
« on: May 09, 2019, 18:30:53 »
I currently use excellent locus-out-fit plugin for locus and in-fit app for garmin device(works on edge 820 and i'm trying to port it to work on epix).
Works totally offline(you can upload route to device once already on the bike), supports course points and metrics that go with it(eta to next point, distance, elevation). Uploading fit route from locus to connect does not work. Cheers.

Add-ons / Locus Map for Garmin
« on: April 17, 2019, 10:14:43 »

on behalf of WearSoft and with cooperation with Locus Map team, I want to introduce you new application which enables you to benefit from advanced features of Locus Map while using your Garmin device.

With Locus Map for Garmin you can
1) use it as main activity application which enables you:
-- display real-time data from Locus Map running on your smartphone in your Garmin:
---- maps incl. any overlays (no need for native map support of Garmin device!)
---- navigation
---- guidance
---- track recording
---- device status (battery, GPS.. )
-- record activities, provide their statistics and store them on Garmin Connect
-- see map stored on your Garmin device (on supported devices)
2) export routes from your smartphone to your Garmin to navigate them with other activity apps (on devices supporting navigation features)

Please let us know what you think! I am here to answer all your questions.

Locus Map Watch / Re: Locus at wrist
« on: January 23, 2019, 14:25:19 »
@sbouju Hello,
we have had already some users with Android OS on their watch trying out the standard Locus Map and from what I could gather, the usability and user experience on the round display was pretty poor, even though the resolution was probably lower.
Improved usability on the Android OS devices with round displays would probably require not exactly trivial UI changes and it is not currently planned.

Troubles & Questions / Re: BRouter and route planner problem ?
« on: November 02, 2018, 09:31:12 »
I remember I spend on this problem few hours and wasn't able to find anything useful. Looked to me like an optimization bug in Android. I'm trying it now on Android 9 and it works correctly. So it really looks like a problem of Android 8 where app is simply unable to contact 3rd party service (service of other application) when is in the background (screen turned off). I'm worried you will a) have to use Graphhopper routing or b) have the screen turned on or c) update to Android 9.

And I'll have to improve this in app as well and give some hint to Android 8 users, what is wrong :/.
