Troubles & Questions / Re: Cell-ID locations

Yes, that seems to work!

As you said, the text on the GPS button in Locus is a bit confusing, I always thought that would control the system GPS as well.

Troubles & Questions / Re: Cell-ID locations

Quote from: "menion"hmm, I just - disabled GPS, enabled in Locus record Cell-ID and increased minimum accuracy to 1000, then started GPS and track record ... and ... recording works without problem (you have to have recorded at least two points to start counting so wait for a minute)

and thanks for crash, probably fixed

You write, "then started GPS and track record" - do I have to enable GPS again to record Cell-ID locations? In the text in the settings is says "when system GPS is turned off". Do I need to switch off the GPS in system menu, but switch on in the Locus screen for this to work?

Troubles & Questions / Re: Cell-ID locations

I tried with 5000 meters, but it still didn't record anything.

I got a couple of crashes though, when I exited the applications. It happened three times yesterday. I include the last crashlog. I wonder if it is related. I use the latest Pro version,

Troubles & Questions / Re: Cell-ID locations

OK. Thanks! I was playing it in the train on the way to work, trying to save a track. But I realize now that I only save points when accuracy < 50 meters, and that will probably not happen with cell tower accuracy.

I will try again on the way back :-)

Troubles & Questions / Cell-ID locations
August 24, 2011, 12:46:17
There is an option to record Cell-ID locations. Does that find the coordinates of the Cell phone towers you are connected to? I tried recording a track with the GPS off and the cell-ID location option on - I thought maybe that could make a track from tower to tower. It didn't work though.

What should it do exactly?

I tried on my Galaxy Tab, and there is no jumping of position when I rotate it,

Maps / Re: [MAPS] - Vector maps
August 04, 2011, 22:49:13
Quote from: "jones12ax7"By the way, I managed to convert Garmin .img to OpenStreetMap format, if someone is interested. I could open it in JOSM, but the map is empty as above.
The Garmin .img format is closed source vector map data, and OSM format is, well, a database with geo-data. I am not sure I understand what you did, could you explain a bit more?

Quote from: "menion"OK, so if you don't worry on me, I'll rather keep just on/off button for this "center shift" rather then confuse many users. About boat - no problem, I just need to create icon :)
Ok, no worries :)

Quote from: "menion"quick enabling is actually thanks to quick panel. And percentage - I asked on opinion on this in third post. Do you durian mean, that this is useful for something? Can you imagine to use some shift in X axis? Or some shift of center to top? Me not :)
I was fantasizing a little, but it has happened that I thought it could be nice to switch the centre to the left or right was well. So that the map shows more of the land if you are driving parallel to the sea for example. :)

But to be honest, to have it at the bottom-quarter is very good and useful 99%! The rest is just the little extra 1%.

A category for "boat" in the track type would be more useful ;-)

No, it doesn't have to shift for me, although I can understand a button to quickly turn it on or off can be useful.

About configuration, maybe a user could set the percentage X and Y, so 50% for both would be in the middle again, and X=50% and Y=25% is the bottom quarter? :)

Maps / Re: [MAPS] - Vector maps

Quote from: "supermaz"This is working for me, except that I couldn't manage to convert the complete europe file...
I think that would be HUGE :) I did the whole of Asia, and the resulting map file was more than 7 GB!

Ah okay, I understand!

Implemented / Boat category
July 25, 2011, 21:51:42
Hi,

I like a new category for the tracks: boat. There is canoeing and swimming, but I sometimes travel by boat or ferry, and it would be nice to be able to set the type.

I have the same problem with Eniro, works on my macbook, not on Locus. I checked the the URL in the XML file, and compared with another programs' XML, there is a difference. In Locus (via add on which adds maps), the URL is http://map01.eniro.no/geowebcache/service/...png, while in the other one it is: http://map.eniro.com/geowebcache/service/...png.

Maybe it is something to try.

Edit: I tried, didn't help, still "unknown problem"....

I have Locus set so it shows only the last 120 points of the track is recording. It suddenly looks like it doesn't display all the points anymore, it looks more like it shows every 10th or something point. I first thought I had changed by track recording settings, but they were still on 1 second/1 meter. The recorded track in the end has all the points, so that was no problem.
