@Andrew Heard: That's right, a longer track time gives more accurate results. My bike tour today: track time 5h 29min., Track interval 5 seconds, display off, airplane mode. Battery indicator at start: 95%, at target 77%. This gives an approximate battery consumption per hour between 3.3 to 3.5%. A fine result. 

Beta 3.38.3.2: Tested yesterday with my SGS8 tracking recording.
Airplane mode, display off, interval 2 seconds, track time 1 h 2 minutes. Power display at start 66%, at target 63%. Only 3 % battery consumption, that's a very good value. The recording accuracy is also very good.

@menion: Excuse me, it was my mistake. The automatic map change (OAM v4) works in Beta 3.38.3.1. 

Du brauchst zum Navigieren oder Tracken in jedem Fall ein Sat-Fix. Sofern Dein S4 in Ordnung ist, sollte es doch klappen. Das kann bei langer Nichtbenutzung unter Umständen schon mal ein paar Minuten dauern. Am besten im Freien. Hast Du das SAT-Fix, läuft es auch stabil. Und es ist dann bei weitem nicht so stromsaugend wie beispielsweise eine permanent aktivierte Datenverbindung oder das Display. Ich habe damals mit meinem alten HTC One S (nur 1650 mAh Akku) über 9 Stunden nonstop tracken können, ohne zusätzlich eine Powerbank nutzen zu müssen. Und es funktioniert immer noch. Hatte dabei unterwegs immer den Flugmodus aktiviert, nur zwischendurch bei Rast mal hin und wieder die Datenverbindung aktiviert. WLAN außer Haus sowieso immer ausschalten. Das spart eine Menge Strom.

Genau das hatte ich vermutet. Prima, dann ist alles in Ordnung und Du kannst nun BRouter nutzen. 

Hast Du mal im Routenplaner probiert, ob BRouter dort funktioniert?

So spontan aus der Ferne: Ich würde erwägen, Deinen selbst angepassten und veränderten BRouter zu deinstallieren. Danach Neuinstallation, dabei den internen Speicher wählen und alles unverändert lassen. Im Locus-Menü --> Navigation BRouter als Standardrouter auswählen.

Auf meinem S8 funktioniert der automatische Kartenwechsel mit OAM V4-Karten.
