I just had an idea on how to "unify" the old "map elements" and the new "map layers". They are basically the same thing, having two completely different UIs for control should be avoided.

Unless Locus finally finds an intelligent way to deal with multiple labels, i guess the panoramio layer and also the georeferenced photos layer need to default to "show Labels on hover" Mode. Otherwise they simply cover too much of the map to be useful.

I also suggest to apply a date filter on geotagged photos, as you can see it works but if you have to much photos it's a mess.

Hello, I'm using with pleasure the function of Live tracking and noticed that the icon of the person you're tracking persists even after it has disabled the tracking or sometimes you see the icon of an old position. It would be very useful in my opinion give a value to the point with a ranking based on the colors, something like this: green icon detected from less than a minute, from one minute to 5 yellow, red from 5 to 10 min, black over the 10 minutes. So just take a look to find out how old is the position shown on the map.

and access via website? this is most likely method for other friends/ family wanting to track my position rather than using Locus app sorry

No yet, I just did a small test and ...
- outgoing update (your location, nickname etc.) - 200 bytes
- incoming update should be around 150-200 bytes per user

But more precise information later. It also depend on length of "message", that is currently not limited (have to limit it to around 160 chars)

I tested it today: 1Kb every transaction (more or less) not too expensive if I set it at 5 min rate.

I was afraid of the data volume due to roaming but the Eurotariff is 25 cents / Mb so with a firewall that blocks all applications except locus there is no longer a real problem.

0.00025 €/Kb * 12Kb/Hour= 0.003€/Hour

I am waiting for a web page where you can track users who share their position as I have not another device to check live tracking.
