Also, where did "Load all waypoints" (or Hide all) go?  It's no longer in the pop-up menu after tapping a cache.  (...one that does have extra waypoints, and is in the database.)

Is it possible to get Hint and Load all Waypoints back?

Hi Spellerberg.

I don't remember seeing a three-dot-menu anywhere in the app (old user manual?), but try this:

Tap the waypoint, then tap the box that pops up.  This shows the detail screen for the point.  Now tap the caret in the lower-right corner.

^
The first option is Edit.   :)

When changing coords, you can tap the little dot-in-circle icon; that'll give you a variety of ways to update the coords.

Enjoy.

First impression: the system notification bar is distractingly BLUE.  Ow, it hurts the eyes!  The map can be a thing of beauty, but this thing is trying to get my attention away from it.  Any chance of getting black back?

Actually, my first impression was the new startup scroll.  Love it; thanks for the laugh.

PS, I'm not seeing the force-close issue slarti76 mentioned, on either of my devices. I tested each device with both quick (<5s) and slow (>5s) restarts.  All okay here.

may you please show me issue with weird distance to cache? I'm unable to simulate this problem, thanks.
Did a little experimenting.  It only happens with my tablet, not the phone, and seems related to my switching to a faraway map, then back home again.  View Hong Kong (about 10400km away from here), tap home button, suddenly it's showing my home coords, then tap a near-to-home cache.

When I view a Mexico map, then tap home, I get a Mexico-ish distance.

Interestingly, I've got both devices set for auto-load maps and auto-load of any type, but sometimes it'll load my home map, sometimes not.  (Home map currently is OAM; I use whichever is most recent.)

This doesn't bother me at all, so I'm happy to ignore it.  You might have better things to work on.  :)

Hi.  Here's another minor bug in most recent non-beta version.  (Hardly seems worth a separate bug report.)

  • With GPS off, tap Home button (lower left).  Confirm it shows recent position, your home/office/wherever.

  • Tap a nearby geocache.

Result: mini-map shows some ridiculous distance to the cache, eg 10434km.  Also, (C) and arrow are superimposed.

Hi.  With today's .1 non-beta release, if you get the Store's message "No internet connection", you can't escape.  You have to either shut down Locus forcibly, or re-enable the internet.  (I even tried searching for "exit", but that didn't work. ;D)

Is the basic world map available anywhere other than by a search for "world"?  I couldn't find it.

(I had some weird things happening by switching between the OAM world map, an online world map, and my - older? - LoMap world map.  Probably a caching issue.  So I cleaned things out by deleting and - after a wee search - re-downloading the LoMap world map.  Now it works well, and the basic level of info is perfect for me, thanks.)

Elsewhere (Quick Map Switch), you label vector maps as "Smart Choice" - which they are - and also as offline maps.

A little consistency might help.  Besides, anything that helps nudge people AWAY from using tiles, especially downloading massive amounts, is a good thing.  Right?

Thanks everyone.

It's a minor issue, and I can live with it.  But I thought I'd mention it, since it was me that brought up the related earlier issue with LoMaps.

I'd used V3 in all my OAM maps up till now, but thought I'd try V4, because theoretically newer is better, right?  Now I'm not so sure.  So V3 uses menion turbo-optimized-code and V4 uses off-the-shelf code?  I see V4 gives far fewer theme options, but at least the matching Elements/Elevate are there.

Hi.

A few months ago I mentioned in one of these threads a problem, which you fixed immediately, thank you.  The problem was, POIs in LoMaps that had "name:en" but no "name" would render on-screen with "en" prepended, eg "en Super Coffee".  See here:  http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=5827.msg48600#msg48600 and quick response on next page.

Today I downloaded a multilingual map from OAM (meaning, V4 MapsForge, right?), my first time doing this, and see the exact same problem.  For example, the POI at http://www.openstreetmap.org/node/4917137121#map=19/20.20900/-87.47264 when shown on OAM's "Middle America" multilingual map.

Would this be a Locus issue, or an OAM one?

More generally, if I'm using OAM, am I better off with the V4 version (multilingual) or V3 (quick install to Locus)?  I only chose multilingual because I assumed 4 > 3.

Mine is still working fine after a year.  8)
Friends of mine bought a pair of newer-model Blackviews for themselves, for geocaching, and so far seem happy as well.  8) 8)

Don't try to "import" the map from that folder.  Just place it there, and Locus will see it automatically.

Reminds me...

One thing I've noticed is that Tiramisu (in Hiking mode) shows hiking trails less prominently than Elevate LE, which I understand it's based upon.  Notice the difference between the second and third examples above.

Personally, I definitely prefer the trails being more prominent.

But overall, a great theme.  Thank you!

Looks nice, yes, but I'm going nuts trying to install it.  Locus doesn't show it as an option, even after exiting Locus and [desperate] rebooting the tablet.

Do I have the file structure right?
mapsVector/_themes/Tiramisu_3_0_2.xml
mapsVector/_themes/Tiramisu_3/[194_assorted_files]

That matches what I see in the ZIP.  (Ignoring the PDFs; I left those out.)

I've tried various other structures as well, following the example of themes that *do* show up.  Such as, adding a Tiramisu directory to hold the XML and the resources directory, or simply scattering the resources beside the XML.  None of it works.  What am I doing wrong?

(The map downloader app doesn't work.)

Thanks in advance,
VP

WAIT A MINUTE.  Now that I've logged in to post this note, I see a download link in the post above - for a *different* ZIP file.  (Different than what I downloaded from the "box" website after a search.)  That may be the answer!  [testing...]  Yes, that one works.  Simply dropped the ZIP contents into _themes, and it works.  And indeed, it looks great.  Thanks.

But totally confusing for anybody not logged in.

Ah, never mind.

On both my active devices (both Android 6), I uninstalled Locus Free/Beta and rebooted.  Bingo: problem gone.

Like the other issue I mentioned today (Live Map), it must've been due to some G4L confusion over Pro vs Free.

Cheers.

A new glitch in the grey-cache-logs version.  If I go Download Logs, it doesn't refresh to display those new logs.  You have to exit to the map and re-enter the cache info screen to see them.

No biggie because there's a workaround.
