Now, there is a very useful function in Locus called "onboard map calibration".
So I'm quite confident if you say "but my priorities are clear and this unfortunately is not on top of them"

I'm trying to make a custom screen for cycling...

Up to now, I'm able to provide a map screen including various infomations that I find useful for cycling, but this is not enough for me, and I'd like to add some interactivity to these screens.

For example, I'd like to change the screen appearance if the speed exceed a pre-defined limit (there is no use to display 10px characters a 50 km/h) :

In my dreams, i'd like to be able to :
 - change screen according to various parameters (speed>40) or conditions (e.g speed>currentmaxspeed)
 - turn LCD on and off.
 - play sounds
 - have some user parameters for my custom scren (threshold aso.)
 - display graphs (altitude, speed)
 - open various locus managers (data manager, map manager, GPS manager aso.)

I'm quite sure it's impossible to do such things with an xml file, so it will be necessary to redefine how custom screens are to be made...
But it can be really nice if we are able to provide a real customization to locus, so this generic application may fit for very specific needs.

Is it possible to combine actionvisibility to various elements (simultaneously)
for example, I'd like to (un)mask both top panel and another button at the same time?

I've tried to put both :
locus:actionVisibility="@+id/zoomout"
locus:actionVisibility="@+id/locus_top_panel" />

but it doesn't work

But maybe it can be easier to understand just by changing labels ("positionning" instead of "GPS" for example) with an explication ("This will use your GPS if enable on Android, or Cell-id if not") 'or something like that when you long press [s:3j3m3q5u]gps[/s:3j3m3q5u] positionning button ?

But as I've said, it's really not a problem when you're familiar with that.

Long time ago, I was wondering why GPS was not fixing correctly (green circle only)

In fact, it was because GPS was activated on Locus but not on the Android system (unfortunately, I cannot see if GPS is working in full screen mode).
I think it's a little confusing for people to see "GPS enable" if it only enable GSM Cell id positionning.

I think it will be better to restrict the use of the word GPS only if GPS is really enable.

I think that it can be more user friendly if
 - circle is always dispayed (green or blue depending if gps is fixing or not)
 - gps is really enable (on both android and Locus) when you enable it

But it is maybe difficult to implement (now that I'm familliar with that, it's really not a problem for me, but I think it can help locus newbies)

Anyway, if download is correct, it's not a problem.

There is a very little bug.

Select "download a map with a path and diameter"

create a new path vith 3 points like this :

 (3 and 2 have to be very close)

I don't total agree with you : basic info are not so basic ... It explain lots of useful things (doubleclick/sqlite file size also.).
Anyway, if you do it for recommendation, I think you'll do it for everything!

For me it's not really a problem, I also use navigation item for kayaking.... And I don't plan to buy a plane yet....

It's just when I show all features of Locus to my friend, that everybody say ("why did set plane for that?")

And sure that motorbiking is the same as plane. I'm already able to take off, fly and crash (landing is not so easy!)   :evil:  :twisted:

Also, another queestion, may a word be used in different context. For example the word "rate"... which was translated in french by taux (i.e. ratio)... In Locus, I've find that Rate was in fact used for ranking Locus... So I've changed to "Avis' Which mean Opinion (The word "avis" is used by Android System (even if the word alone may not be really clear)...

So my question : is there any risk that somewhere in Locus, the word "Rate" may be use in another context? I think that no, but I prefer to ask stupid questions...

In fact, I'd deeply prefer to have these information in top of Locus map instead on a new screen... It can be really great if I can add my speed/altitude in the top of the map screen... I'd like to be able to set the text size, position, and color (with transparency) in the front of the track map (and not in a special menu) - because I always need the map...

Another really cool stuff may be to show the speed using the whole screen with a fluo background when I rise above my previous maxspeed... I've such a feature on my Recon Ski Goggles, it was so great to see a big flashing 103 Km/h during skiing, I'd like to see the same on my bike (but I think that unfortunately, I cannot reach such speed while biking)...
